Last Doctor Who Story you listened to?

I really enjoyed Sword of Orion. Spare Parts is good Genesis of the Cybermen story if that is available to you.

I just started listening to 1963: Fanfare for the Common Men, which has been pretty good so far. I'm not superfamiliar with this era of the show, I've seen a few Fifth Doctor serials, but the only one with Nyssa was Earthfall, so I can't really judge it against the episode from this era.

FYI, Humble Bundle is doing a charity special for Children in Need with a selection of Doctor Who audio stories. I won't link directly because of the board's anti-solicitation rules, but it's easy enough to Google. The stories are:

$1+
1st Doctor: "The Sontarans"
4th Doctor: "The Auntie Matter"

$10+
The above, as well as:
2nd Doctor: "The Black Hole"
3rd Doctor: Volume 01 ("Prisoners of the Lake" and "The Havoc of Empires")
4th Doctor: "Night of the Vasta Nerada"
5th Doctor: "Empire of the Racnoss"
6th Doctor: "The Carrionite Curse"
8th Doctor: "Day of the Vasta Nerada"

$18+
The above, as well as:
9th Doctor: "Ravagers"
War Doctor: "Infernal Devices"
11th Doctor: Volume 01
8th Doctor: "Ravenous 1"
The Diary of River Song: Series 3
UNIT: "Silenced"
7th Doctor: "Theatre of War"
10th Doctor and River Song: "Expiry Dating"
5th Doctor: "The Elite"

I finished up Fanfare for the Common Men, and I really enjoyed it. The story took some nice twists and turns, and I thought Lenny was a pretty fun scuzball of a villain.

I was curious to check out some of the audios with the sound alike actors who died or aren't working with Big Finish, so I started the Third Doctor Adventures story Primord. It's been good so far, I've been enjoying the story, and the actors playing The Third Doctor, The Brigadier, and Liz are really good.

The best of the recast Doctors, for my money, is Jacob Dudman's Eleventh Doctor. Perfect imitation and good acting. The whole series of stories with Dudman and Safiyya Ingar is pretty darn good.

Yeah, his Big Finish days are behind him now. Good for his career, not so good for Big Finish.

Just listened to the Violet Hour 13's most recent adventure.

1920's period story which I really enjoyed. I think the Jodie audios have had a great first season.

I started listening to The Scream of Ghosts on Into the TARDIS, I'm about half way through Part 1 and it's off to a good start.

Not a Big Finish thing, but I listened to the audio (with connecting narration) version of The Myth Makers. Since its a totally lost story with only mediocre images for the recon I decided to try out the audio version, and it worked well enough. Sometimes the audio quality was a bit iffy, especially with no visuals for context, but I got through it fine. I do wish we could see the stuff with the trojan horse though, I'm sure it was cheap but it was probably also fun.

The story itself is pretty decent if maybe a bit too comedic, its definitely a story I think would play better an screen then it does audio only. Vicki leaving was somehow more abrupt then other companions who leave with the romantic interest of the week, although it felt like Vicki leaving with Troilus made more sense then Leela leaving with random Time Lord guy. Having a bunch of mythic characters just kind of be there being comically over the top jerks reminded me of The Romans, although I think that was a stronger story.

Overall this wasn't a bad way to experience a completely lost story, and I might try to go back to the format with a few of the other completely missing stories that I haven't experienced yet.
