LARPs (Webseries)

Do Over sounds a lot like 17 Again.

I've heard of Wonderfalls. Better than Middleman?

Those are some mighty strong words you're throwing around.

I looked up the trailer.

I felt like I was watching some poor woman slowly losing her mind to Schizophrenia.

Did you know that Darth isn't the only Vader?

Yup. Got four seasons of it on a drive, but I've only bothered to watch 3 episodes.

The Wonderfalls trailer was posted in this thread one page back. :(

Well either she is going insane, or God is talking to her.

In a rational universe where there is no god or Ghosts, Jaye is insane, fortunately she does not exist in a rational universe, but her mother does not know that.

To explain why this came up originally if you didn't already figure it out.

In Traveler Matt Bomer plays Jay Burchell and Logan Marshall-Green plays Tyler Fog, which is an obvious homage to Wonderfalls where Caroline Dhavernas plays Jaye Tyler.

:)

It's a secret love letter.

I just finished the first season, of CV.

I did not know that.

Kind of like how the town in the movie Gingersnaps, is called Bailey Downs. An homage to the characters, Sarah Bailey and Nancy Downs from The Craft.

Sounds like someone should write a book called The Hollywood Code.

I'm not big on straight horror.

It's like a 2 hour set up for a joke, waiting for a predictable punchline.

You know, if giggles were stabbings.

Shh... Before someone steals it!

Don't worry. I'll credit you for the title:)

How's 10% of my earnings sound?

Admittedly, I've only seen about 20 minutes of GS but I love The Craft and The Lost Boys. The only two straight horror movies I actually enjoy.

The Lost Boys is not straight horror.

It's made for children.

80s children, who thought cocaine was candy and women needed to be wantonly stripped and objectified, but still children.

Drugs only screw up your life, if you take drugs while you should be working, or stay wasted when you should be ready to start work, or if you want more drugs than you can comfortably afford. Responsible drug addicts do not have to sell and buy back their TV twice a month.

Most drug users can use the worst drugs responsibly and in moderation, while keeping a job, and paying their mortgage, and raising children.

On a long enough timeline Cocaine is going to fuck you up and kill you, but the same is true about alcohol and cigarettes.

Think about the size of the drug economy, trillions of dollars a year change hands, the Popo tells us, but if everyone that took drugs died on the streets a week later, drugs would be an unsustainable industry and the human race would have died out in the 1970s.

Having an addictive personality leading to serious drug addiction is a little bit nature and a little bit nurture but it's mostly about being an asshole, and it's only a small percentage of the actual people consuming all the drugs who other wise lead normal uneventful lives, who fit the addicted stereotype of a drug addict. The consequences of abusing drugs and not maintaining the infrastructure of your life is totally foreseeable and only an idiot (asshole) would spend his rent on smack, and his electricity bill on gambling and get wasted at work so bad that peeing in the water cooler seems like a good idea, that he's fired.

The problem is that addicts who blow up, are so loud about it, that these punks give drugs a bad name, and makes it harder for all the brave and privileged Americans out there who can handle their Meth and a 9 to 5. Actually if you have enough meth you can handle two 9 to 5s. Regardless you've been fed halftruths about the %1 of drug users and been lead to believe that these stories are documentaries about the %99.

Don't take drugs.

Stay in school.

Her husband was a crazy enabler, they had limitless wealth, too much spare time and nigh endless safety nets.

Don't go confusing multimillionaire celebrities for normal people.

He was a real keeper, that one.

Though I'm pretty sure she was coked out long before they got together. Being with him certainly didn't help.

I'm not into drugs. Hell, it's been two years since I last got drunk.

I'm hardly an authority on either subject.

I also know nearly nothing about music.

I am aware of Whitney because she was on an episode of Silver Spoons in the 80s.

(No seriously, somehow I have not seen the Bodyguard. It looked shit.)

Old I am, excruciatingly so.

Good for you! I've never been drunk. Yay for sobriety!

I've never seen The Bodyguard either.

I happen to be quite informative where music is concerned.

You had to have heard this one.

Yup. Just because I'm not paying attention it doesn't mean that songs like that haven't crawled right up my bum and hunkered down.

Well that's good to know. It's important to keep up with stuff like that, kind of. Do you at least like music?

I'm not implying that you don't.

Um, I forget where I was going with this...

I like what I like but there was never a reason (Other than cooking? before I very recently had an mp3 player) that I'd rather listen to music than watch tv or read a book, unless there was a party.

It's a very, very narrow crack where music is useful.

Oh, but dancing is fantastically stupid.

:)

Do you have a favourite character from LARPs yet?

Dancing is super fun! By no means am I great at it though.

I spend a good two hours per day listening to music.

I haven't read a book in months. I should probably do that soon, so my brain doesn't turn to mush, from all the binge-watching I've been doing.

I should really learn to cook actual food instead of the stuff that comes from the frozen food section.

Sorry I kind of got caught up with Chad (Vader not Radwell) but I will start on it tomorrow.
