Lanthanites and Pelia - speculation

When were Romulans on Earth prior to First Contact?
If you watch Picard Season 2; there is a Romulan agent that was put in place by and working for the same race of beings that monitored and interfered with Earth events using agents like Gary Seven from TOS S2 Assignment Earth.

She lived on earth during the 21st century.

These long lived people on Trek's Earth are so mild mannered like Guinan and Pelia. Over at the Marvel universe, we've got Shang-Chi's father being a shadowy international crime lord, En Sabah Nur aka Apocalypse shouting "Everything they built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we'll build a better one!" Let's not even get into Ra's al Ghul from DC... (Bashir's secret shouldn't have been that he was genetically engineered, but that he's actually a centuries old criminal mastermind who joined Starfleet in the 24th century because he got bored  )

Could somebody please remind Carol Kane that she's not still shooting The Addams Family?

srsly, I am really not that excited about Pelia. She is actually getting on my nerves. If she could choose to act a little less weird, that would be great, he said in his best Bill Lumbergh voice.

She had what? Two scenes and couple of lines of dialogue? And I’m pretty sure my “current job is boring, I want to do something fun” isn’t exactly a weird sentiment.
Accents are bad now? Better cancel those Scotty and Chekov appearances.

“You know, I’m not a very confident person, unlike Pelia,” she says. “I was terrified that at the end of it, they would say, ‘No, we want you to regular voice,’ but they didn’t. They said, ‘Go for it!’ -- https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/st...arol-kane-accent-pelia-lanthanite-1235644952/

The director/showrunners could have stopped Carol at any time and told her to do it differently and she would have done so. They didn't. So ultimately the blame should lie with them, not with her.

You guys really aren’t picking up what I’m putting down.

What I said was a joke. Of course Picard season 2 is canon- that was the joke.

I’ll reach for the old rimshot emoji next time, I guess.
I prefer the "That's the joke" meme myself.

Also there are emjojis running around to support the humor.

Also, humor-it is a difficult concept. It is not logical.

Accents are bad now? Better cancel those Scotty and Chekov appearances.
Absolutely! Were you not present when we voted on accents being bad?

I got the joke. It wasn't funny.
And I’m pretty sure my “current job is boring, I want to do something fun” isn’t exactly a weird sentiment.
Seems weird to me. Jobs are supposed to be boring, people don't go to work to have fun.

;)

I loved her first thing.
She reminds me of one of my Irish aunts who speaks fluent Spanish.
The older she got the more grumbly her voice got and when she would mix the two languages when yelling at me for whatever, it always sounded alien to me.
I'd laugh and say what did you just say Aunt Sheila and then she'd go off on a full spanish rant at me.
Then give me a cookie.
:)

(sadly, Aunt Sheila died last month at 98 years old)

I feel about Pelia like I do about Neelix. They're not my favorite characters, but I don't have massive hate for them like some fans do.
