I was legit terrified of the sleestaks at age 3-5. Like crying hiding behind my Dad's recliner scared.

I was a little older and not quite as scared as you, but yeah, they were creepy as hell.


I'll wait until we start seeing more substantial info on the reboot like casting, set photo's etc, before I'll get excited. I just hope they look to the first two seasons of the original show for inspiration as I think it encapsulated everything cool about the show. I'd love a bigger "map" as I said above so that there's more environments and ways to add to the lore. Here's hoping it gets made.

Here's a bit of (hopefully interesting) trivia. Until a month ago, I just assumed 'Grumpy" the T-Rex and the other dinos showcased in LotL were crafted specifically for that series. Apparently, time and effort were saved because those articulated "dolls" already existed. They were created at least as early because they appeared in an educational short titled "Dinosaurs, the Terrible Lizards".

Here's a YouTube video edited to feature nothing but the stop motion sequences. I have chosen this clip instead of a version featuring the full reel because this has the better image quality. On the other hand, the audio track "warbles" something truly wretched! You may wish to play the sequence with the sound muted.

The copyright notice lists MCMLXXXVI (1986) but I think that was a case of Chang revising his rights to the work as the style of presentation, the look of the film, and the facts presented suggest a much older work. So it seems "Grumpy" and friends had something of a "career revival" with LotL.
