I remember the 70's & 80's, waiting 6 months for the conclusion to a cliffhanger.

TNG had the benefit of Starlog magazine with some speculation regarding cliffhangers, but I don't remember full on spoilers. I may have chosen to forget.

 

The lack of spoilers clearly means it's a terrible show.

I mean...what else would you possibly derive from this???

 

That's because they're making it up as they go along.
