Laas : does he have the morphogenic virus?

Ra'min

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
In Ds9 7x14 Chimera Odo meets another of the "hundred" errant changeling, Laas, and links with him.
By this time, we know the founders have the morphogenic virus and it's transmitted though the link.

But latter, in 7x21 When It Rains , we learns that odo also have the virus, and in fact was affected first, and transmitted it to the others.

So, may we assume laas contracted the virus ?
as he is still out there in space, he probably wasn't healed

I was under the impression he was planning on seeking the founders anyways but it's a loose end series wise.

I thought he was going to find the other 98 changelings sent out into the universe? I think he pretty much has to have the virus though. It isn't like finding the home world of the Dominion would be hard for him to do though. I would think he'll get sick and then head for the Gamma Quadrant to get the cure.

He undoubtedly has the virus. In fact, the producers wanted to bring Laas back in another episode in order to fix this oversight, but they could never fit into the final chapter.

I haven't read the relaunch books, but I believe the issue is dealt with there.

I think in star trek online you can kill laas as a quest so he survives but he does die eventually in a game :).

I heard they didn't bring himbackbecause they lost track of the actor who played him. :shifty:

According to memory alpha, laas was played by JG Hertzler, aka martok.
