L&O: SVU/LA Crossover

Alana de la Garza will be reprising her original L&O character (Connie Rubirosa) on L&O:LA. Don't know when exactly, but she will.
She's gonna be a regular.
Yeah, originally she was looking at suspension, but I'm pretty sure that it was said at some point in season 10 that she had been disbarred.
The Novak and Dekker appearances will be on the same episode, by the way.
Here's the weird thing about Dekker:
He'll be playing the defense attorney, defending his son against I don't know what because that's where I stopped reading the article but I'm going to guess it's rape
Damn shame they disbarred Novak. She would be a hell of an improvement over the revolving door of crappy ADA's that they've had lately.

What SVU needs to do is cut down the cast.
Stabler and Benson are apparently too expensive to be in more than one scene an episode together, so one has to go. It shouldn't be too hard to write a reason since one of their suspects dies every episode.
Richard Belzer is criminally underused, showing up once in a blue moon when the need a cranky Liberal view.
Why are B.D. Wong and Tamara Tunie even in the main cast? Each has a scene every other episode and that's it. Most of Tunie's scenes recently have been whining that the detectives go over her head or don't believe her diagnosis.

She'll actually be there when the show returns on April 11, so Rubirosa will be around for the remainder of this season, however long that is (they were in the middle of shooting episode 12 when production was shut down and half the cast was pink-slipped).
There was an SVU companion book that came out a while back that says David Simon has to be paid royalties every time Munch appears (since he, Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson created the character for Homicide -- the other two waived their rights to payments, but Simon did not). Since SVU's budget has been getting cut down over the last few years, it could be possible that they've cut costs by minimizing his appearances.
Well, B.D. Wong is almost certain to return to guest star status -- at most -- next season, since his starring contract is up and he's been cast in the pilot of REM alongside Wilmer Valderrama and Jason Isaacs. If the show gets picked up, he probably won't be on SVU at all next season. We'll find out more in May.
People watch SVU for the characters unlike the original. It's going to be a disaster of a show if one of them leaves. They've already said they're going out together anyway.
Unfortunately to me, Stabler and Benson have gotten less interesting over past seasons. It's becoming who can scream or cry or getting tortured the best. Give Ice-T some more screen time!
