Spoilers Krall's Seemingly Inconsistent Appearance

Jaylah really was inspired by Jennifer Lawrence.

From Simon Pegg:

"We were trying to create this very independent character. But we didn't have a name for it. So we just called it 'Jennifer-Lawrence-In-Winter's-Bone.' That's a long name. So it started getting tiring always saying, well Jennifer-Lawrence-In-Winter's-Bone is fighting here. So then we started calling her J-Law. And then she became Jaylah."

I'll try not to hold that against her.

It's scientific fact. I have proof.

Kudos for only giving yourself third place, J. Your restraint is noteworthy.

[Trump] Who says I can't be humble? I'm the best at being humble! No one is as humble as me. [/Trump]
Well, you know, I don't want to seem like a braggart. :ouch:

What's wrong with Krall? It's reminiscent of the Krell from Forbidden Planet, previously Michael Kaplan mentioned being inspired by old 50s sci-fi films when designing the uniforms for the Kelvin crew, so it kind of fits in with that feel.

Krall is a monster in the 80's ZX Spectrum/Commodore 64 text adventure game Star Wreck. I wonder if Simon Pegg played it...

Sounds like the kind of generic character names you'd find on Andromeda or Stargate Atlantis. As uninspired as the rest of the film seems to be.

Perhaps somewhat uninspired, since it is identical to the kind of names that critters like Klingons and Vulcans are given.

I live in New Zealand and I just saw the film today. Yes, that is Krall and there's a reason why. I could spoil it, but not unless an overwhelming majority want me to.
