KNOWING

I've heard good things about this movie, but seeing or hearing Nicholas Cage longer than a few seconds makes me puke blood and poop.

Joe, brushed

The ending was a blatant metaphor for the Adam & Eve myth.
How could it not be? That was sort of the point.

I saw the movie last night and I actually enjoyed it. It kept me intrigued throughout. I don't pay attention to religious metaphors or how far in advance the payoff might be telegraphed; it kept my attention throughout, that's all that matters to me.

I thought the kid playing Caleb was really good, and it's uncanny how much the girl who played Lucinda/Abby looked like Rose Byrne. Also, I'd never seen or heard of Nadia Townsend before, but I liked her as Nic Cage's sister, Grace.

The disasters were pretty cool, particularly the plane crash (aside from the obvious CG fires) and the spectacular fate of Earth.

I find Nicholas Cage more and more unwatchable as time goes by.

You know how, as he got older, Marlon Brando began to get more and more eccentric (and flat-out weird), culminating in doing shit like The Island of Dr. Moreau and walking around without any pants on the set of The Score?

I'm convinced that Nicolas Cage is this generation's version.
