Wow. That was spectacularly stupid. The plot was barely comprehensible. The action was silly. The car chase towards the end didn't make any sense. The acting was HORRIBLE. I can't think of anything redeeming about this show.
And if this was an improvement over the pilot movie, I'm glad I skipped it. I won't be watching this one.

I'm curious, mainly because I thought the plot was pretty easy to get (in other words, written for most age groups to understand) - what was "barely comprehensible"?
I liked the movie, but this first ep made my head ache. It was so unbelievably stupid. Stripping in the car? Really? Was it necessary? No. I'm supposed to believe Mike was a special forces guy. I don't think so. He's being led around by his dick at a party where he's supposed to be obtaining important information. I could see if he was exuding sex appeal, but he looked ridiculous with the slicked back hair. KITT is about the only thing I liked about this ep. The rest made me roll my eyes so much I nearly lost a contact. If I could have demanded a refund from iTunes, I would have, but they gave it away for free.
Ha ha, no kidding. Mike looked like he was about 18 years old in that opening teaser. "Special Forces" my ass.
Despite the huge promotional push from NBC and the ratings success of the TV movie, "Knight Rider" debuted to disappointing ratings with only 7.3 million viewers. That's not so hot and could mean that this remake is in trouble.
This could be gone as fast as bionic woman. If you look back at past attempts it really hasn't been a good record. Its a miracle the original series lasted four years. I guess the nostalgia died out.
KR 2000- decent ratings but no series

According to knightrideronline.com, the show won three key demographics.
"Further analyzing of the Nielson numbers reveals that Knight Rider won the #1 in Males 18-34, #1 in Males 25-54, also #1 in Kids 2-11."
Even though it's number three, these demographic wins might be enough to have to stay on for a while.
Maybe NBC was expecting the third place finish being the newbie behind Dancing with the Stars and Bones, and expect audience growth soon...

just one quick question.the show shown in the image below, is the most watched by Kids 2 - 11 in that time slot?
the show was always going to do well with men, lets face it Strictly Come Dancing USA is probaly not the centre piece of alot of guys TV schedules. However I assume there was a low number of kids watching, due to the time slot.
