Knight Rider 2008 Series SPOILERS

^ As of yet we don't know the fate of the 2k, but the personalities between the two are different.

Thanks. I knew it was the Three Thousand. So they made it a whole new personality? They didn't transfer the Two Thousand personality over to the Three Thousand?

Completely separate AI from KITT 2K. In fact, rumor has it Michael (Sr.) and the original KITT may show up, possibility in the season finale.

If that's true, then what's the story behind the Trans-Am that was in the garage with the Knight Three Thousand?

There were actually 2 Trans Am bodies in the garage and parts scattered about. KITT the actual AI may have been separated from his body (that's one prevailing fan theory anyhow).

Maybe KITT went through three bodies/upgrades after 1986? You have his super pursuit mode, 1980's body and mid 90's body.

Interesting. I don't remember seeing two bodies, but I don't doubt your claim. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.

We don't know.

As with most parts of that scene, it was a very quick flash. It's best seen in the "overhead" shot of the garage. Someone screen capped it on the Knight Rider Online boards and highlighted the vehicles. They also had to brighten the pic significantly in Photoshop, so on first viewing it would be very hard to notice.

I've searched YouTube for clips and can't find them anywhere. It's all buggered up with clips of what's to come in two weeks.

Again, is the premiere one hour or two?

In the pilot movie, the KI3T didn't really have a personality. I gather that will change in the series as it "grows up."

Considering all the other changes the new producer has made, I wouldn't be surprised if they just completely ignored that scene in bringing the original car back.

Besides, for all we knew, it could have just been a bunch of spare parts in that garage, used to keep KITT functioning over the years; the actual car could be in some other top secret garage.

BTW, NBC.com, iTunes, Hulu, IMDB, and Amazon Unboxed all have the premiere on streaming or downloadable video as of today.

Only saw the opening teaser so far, and it looks good...

NBC, Amazon and Hulu all have the episode up to watch:

Amazon

Hulu

SPOILERS AHOY!!!

Finished watching it earlier and I have to say they did better than I was expecting! I was being cautiously optimistic about it and now I am really looking forward to the rest of the series. I think they needed to throw everything and the kitchen sink into the first ep to hook people, and this should do it.

I really enjoyed the use of "spy gadgets" in the beginning. It's nice to see Knight Research not just develops tech for KITT to use, but also gear for Mike and its field agents. Nice touch.

All the SFX were right there on the screen too and the character relationships are definitely a lot stronger in this episode than the 2 hour movie. I was particularly pleased with the HUD scene when KITT entered the subway tunnel. The darkness totally highlighted everything and I'll agree that I did not miss the "touch buttons" at all. I liked the idea of using the windshield as a touch screen and moving windows around it.

I thought KITT was a lot better and displayed a ton more personality. He's still "young", but I was happy at the emphasis about "worrying" early on and his last "handsome couple" comment certainly shows there's more to him than just being cold and calculated. I also found his recording of Graiman and Torres' conversation (and the scanning of Mike's file) interesting. I get the feeling he'll soon be displaying another emotional trait: loyalty, specifically to Mike and Sarah.

I'm happy the "man that does not exist" factor was worked into the show, and kudos to them for aknowledging "Michael Long" before "Knight". I also have to say I loved the classic "whoosh" of KITT's scanner. I too noticed that it didn't always line up with the movements of the lights, but me being a silly fanboy was so busy gushing over the sound that I really didn't care. :)

I'm hooked and will definitely watch this week to week!

I just watched the premiere. What a stupid show. Just like the 80s show, only for the 2008! I guess I'll be watching! :P

Maybe if every episode had Deanna Russo prancing around almost naked or topless, that would keep people coming back. :)

Only had time to watch the teaser so far, but it definitely looks like a step up from the lame movie. And while the transformation effect may be completely implausible (and takes KITT a little too far out of the real world for my taste), I gotta admit it DOES add an awful lot of energy and excitement to the action scenes.

I still think Kilmer sounds way too calm and disconnected from the action though. And while the new Michael actor is likable enough, I'm afraid he just doesn't have nearly the level of charisma he needs to have for this role. Hasselhoff may not have been a great actor either, but he so much damn charisma that it more than made up for it.

Evidently this is a definition of "charisma" that I'm unfamiliar with. KITT was the one with all the charisma. Well, him and Edward Mulhare.

Ok, maybe "charisma" isn't the right word. But he definitely had a stronger and more engaging personality than this new guy.

Well if worse comes to worse, our hero can always have an accident that requires plastic surgery (like what turned Long into Knight) and just like that, he's Michael Weatherly!
