I don't know about the other two but TSCC's original version of the pilot never aired on television so the changes made aren't important, it's like th changes bewteen the first two Star Trek pilots. However there was still a KITT before this one and yes Michael Knight is still Mike's dad, he even thought about changing his name to Michael Long because it was his father's name.

We do not know if that was the original Knight Two-Thousand or not. Don't go making assumptions

This is speculation on my part, but your comment above leaves out one possibility: Assuming this is the original KARR AI in a new body (and we don't know if it is or isn't), we don't know for sure that it was Charles was the one who used the KARR CPU in the military robot. What if, in their acquisition of Knight resources, the government is the one who did it, but brought in Graiman to try to "fix" KARR's programming? We don't know the full story. I admit the entire thing could turn out super cool or turn out to be one big clusterfubar, we'll have to wait and see.

That's true too, but aspects of the show (such as dates and background information on the characters) has been changed.

^ The dates of the show changed from 2008 back to 2007. Derek's rank has changed as well as character names - Riley's name, Kacy's name - between their appearances. That's not including the things from the film changed (The Terminator now happened in 1983 instead of 1984, T2 Judgment Day moved).

You should have made it clear you were talking TSCC instead of Knight Rider. And the point still stands since the original pilot didn't make it to television it doesn't matter.

^ I am not talking about only the original pilot: in this I have now incorporated aspects of Terminators first and second seasons (all of these changes have happened in the show since both their aired and unaired pilot). TV Shows change their own stories all the time is what I was going for. If they don't like aspects of it they simply ignore or change it. Simple as that.

But this is a KR discussion so let's get back to it.

On the contrary: there was solid evidence it was the KI2K:
1/ "Knight Two Thousand" on one of the parts
2/ the plate "California KNIGHT".

Voted Good for this episode, although the sound waves thing was a bit too much for my taste.

I have parts, parts, and more parts from several different cars of the same model in a storage shed and my garage.

^ All good points, and let's not forget how many times KITT's CPU was removed from the car and installed in a portable TV. Even if the disassembled vehicle seen in the telefilm was the "real" KITT's body, KITT's "mind" may be intact and active somewhere.

Unless ------- he was ultimately destroyed, which led to Michael Knight's departure from FLAG.

The official plate, well, there can be only one, can it? As for the "Knight Two Thousand" on the steering wheel (if I can call that a wheel), there is only one with that particular reference. Unless you can produce another one of course.

And the Trans Am-looking car? Just a random one? And all just happen to be at Grayman's home. But you say we can't assume it's KI2T? I'd like to read your explanation about that. Really.

The KNIGHT plate? If it was of the original design it could've simply been the '80s California plates. I suspect they've changed their design once or twice over the last 20 years.

OK, it's like I said, I have piles and piles of parts from older Volkswagens, specifically Karmann Ghias. If you looked in my garage, storage shed, and out in the yard, you'd see pieces, parts, and bits. I still have the license plates from my 1964 Karmann Ghia sitting that I sold in 1996, and I also have several Karmann Ghia bodies in my yard. Are you meaning to tell me that if you saw my yard, the tag, and all of the parts that I clearly still own that 1964 Karmann Ghia?

For all we know, the Two-Thousand AI was damaged/destroyed and the car we saw was the prototype for the K3K and there were also bits of the old K2K in there as well. Hell, I have a 1972 Beetle sitting in my garage as well.

Does this make sense?
