From TV.com:

Mike finds himself poisoned during an undercover operation, which leaves him with only three hours to live before his nervous system shuts down. To procure the antidote, Mike must fake the assassination of a billionaire tech mogul.

How many times are writers going to play the "he's been poisoned and has X-hours to live" plot. Talk about tired, old, and unimaginative.

I missed the first 10 minutes because I was expecting the show to get preempted for the debate. So to whoever said last week that it would, I offer a hearty "Go screw yourself." :)

While I enjoyed the episode, it also highlighted a lot of the stuff that the series is getting wrong. I realize it's the 21st century and ensemble casts are de rigueur, but when the star spends half of the show's last third either dead or comatose, it's not really a great thing.

I was chatting with Kass tonight on IM about this episode, and while we both agreed that the cast needed to be pared down, we couldn't really figure out who, apart from Poitier. Billy and Zoe would be good candiates, except that their banter is sometimes the most entertaining thing in the episode. Maybe if they cut back the KITTcave stuff even more, and tried to keep it centered on Michael, Sarah and KITT out in the field...

I gave this one an "average," in large part because of the deficiencies compared to the classic KR episode it was ripping off.

Next week's looks like fun, though the paramilitary group Michael has to infiltrate will mean I'll be rewatching the classic first season eppy "Inside Out" so I can look for obvious ripoff moments. ;)

Debate was a scheduled event. Why would it get pre-empted?

;)

My DVR failed me again tonight. I've obviously some conflicts that isn't allowing KR to get recorded.

Zoe would probably be the first to go since the actress isn't part of the main cast credits.

I have a question... Did KITT turn into a van? The first two or three minutes didn't have my full attention. It looked like Mike and that guy got into a van and it turned into KITT's car mode.

Also, they should be making better use of Bruce Davison. He hasn't done much since the pilot.

^ NP. First thing I said when I saw it: Ford needed a new vehicle to sell.

In Michigan, many of the cops have switched from Crown Vics to apparently cheaper Chargers and what not, so maybe they need to push those too.

I don't know why it struck me as so funny but my favorite part is when KITT opened the doors "normally" for their protection during the shootout.

I think it's unfortunate to have so much Mary Sue functionality in KITT because I think the show would be more interesting if there were some consistency and believable limitations; I think it would add more tension when the drama rises.
