Klingon TIE Fighter in plastic...

judexavier

Commander

Well, I decided to try to build this.:)

(It's been years since I've done anything like this, so try to be forgiving :) )...
Since I'm using found objects and a model kit for parts, I had to redo the plans to scale correctly.
The cockpit "ball" is an old hotwheels Christmas ornament, and a few obvious pieces were borrowed from a Tamiya Challenger II tank (which, by reshaping one of the figures for the pilot, makes it 1/35 scale).
Most will end up being scrap plastic, or proper sheet styrene.
I'll put up the simplified "plans" to give an idea of what the finished thing might look like. (minus the painting and greebles)...
(Those radiator fins are a royal BITCH...I tried using combs as a jig, but the results pretty well sucked, yes I know they look like hell :), and worse I glued the fins onto the base plate incorrectly, so it doesn't fit...I've made a new, better "comb jig", and am cutting new parts, so hopefully version 2 will be more acceptable).

Anyway, more pics and progress to follow, unless I get mad and throw the whole mess in the street. :)

Plus, those plans may come in handy with my 3D model....

You're desthpicable. How could one guy have so much talent?!? You need to spread that wealth around!
Seriously, looks great! Be interesting to see this finished.
