I do not want to "be" anything, or anyone else but the one and only Me! However, I have a definite preference for Vulcans over Klingons. The Klingons in The Motion Picture were COOL! They really acted and looked great. Then ... they started getting over-used and over-exploited and before you know it, I'm watching Worf sniff his mate like a dog, when she was in heat (but not in the crotch area, as this is regular television, back in the day). I'm watching Klingons howl as they stare into his eyes as he's dying to "warn the dead." Spiritual rituals that are just lame. An Honour Code that's entirely too flexible, depending on what kind of "cool" the episode's going for. As an example, Worf's invited to kill Duras' son in vengeance, when the son wasn't involved in the deceased father's doings. I love TNG, but I really do not care for the Klingons. Keeping them mysterious was the only way to keep their coolness, but Worf's ability to be a Klingon in Starfleet always had to be tested, for some reason.
The Vulcans lost much of their mystery as well, thanks to -ENTERPRISE- which was fond of having them played as emotional, which they justified by "corruption" of Surak's teachings. Whatever ... and loved showing the Vulcan High Command to be corrupt and incompetent, as well. Their makeups kept getting shittier and their wigs kept getting nappier, don't ask me why. But through it all, the Vulcans appreciated beauty. They pretty much retained that. The female Vulcans were generally hot looking, which is as it should be. And even though the CGI landscapes looked rushed and kind of simple, and the only shown sehlat apparently cost too much to have him actually do anything but howl a little bit, then run off ... it was always cool to revisit Vulcan. The basic ideas were always there, they just were never realised in a way that merited any kind of awards, at all. They were the lesser of the two evils with the Klingons, I guess you could call it.
