Klingon Computer (The Voyage Home)

The computer on the Klingon bird of prey had pretty detailed information about a species that went extinct before the Klingons ever met humans. How do you suppose the information got there?
They have Google in the 23rd century.

The Vulcans refurbished the Klingon bridge and computers to Federation Standard while the crew was there. One of Spock's duties on the Enterprise was to keep the library computer updated. I'm sure he updated the Bird of Prey to the Federation Database.
Plus, they replaced the Klingon food packs.

Yes, Scotty claimed that they were giving him a sore stomach. Why did they eat that stuff at all? I mean the trip from Genesis to Vulcan must not have taken more than a few hours and then they stayed on Vulcan all the time so why did Scotty even touch the thing? Another one of these remarks that don't make much sense.

Perhaps given the choice between plomeek soup and hearty, meaty, klingon cuisine, Scotty preferred the non-veggie option, and then regretted it XD

Stress eating.

It looked quite appealing when Riker devoured it with lust ;)
One of KRAD's novels (I think it was "Diplomatic Implausibility") mentioned that, while gagh is served live, it's not swallowed live, you're supposed to chew it, and Riker shotgunning his bowl as quickly as possible meant he ended up with a bad case of worms. I guess that's how you can tell the tourists from the real Klingon aficionados.

This is not necessarily the way the Ferengi like their live food and I quote Nog on that: "What good are tube-grubs if they don't wiggle on the way down?"...

Apprently, katra can be dished out piecemeal, much like regeneration energy in Doctor Who - this is essentially what Sarek does with Mike Burnham. It's not known if Sarek loses something in the process, like the Doctors do; quite possibly, katra is like love and never runs out no matter how much you give.

That katra would add up to the noncorporeal equivalent of one's everyday existence is not established. You can bottle up Surak's katra and then have meaningful discussions with it, but that's still probably way short of actually having Surak around. And a katra helps reboot a body resurrected by Genesis, but neither katra nor Genesis alone would bring back Spock as far as we can tell.

Kirk and his crewmates flew the Klingon ship from Vulcan to Earth, saving Earth via a time travel adventure on the way. They may have gotten a ride from where they released the whales to their hearing, but that's not the part of their voyage I'm talking about. Starfleet Intelligence dropped the ball in a big way by not repossessing the ship on Vulcan at the earliest opportunity.

I think it's better to note that it's not the CIA going to France to get the captured Soviet submarine. It's the CIA going to New York from Washington D.C.

Besides, every bit of data for the Federation would and probably was recorded by the Vulcan Starfleet command there answering to the civilian government....of Vulcan.
