Hi.
ADB have recently released a Star Fleet Universe adaptation of Majestic Twelve Games' Starmada game system - and have also printed a run of the core Starmada rulebook, while they were at it.
Klingon Armada comes with the basic Starmada rules in the rulebook, so is enough to get started, but more options are available in the Admiralty Edition ruleset.
KA is designed to follow a similar release template as Federation Commander did not so long ago. The same squadron boxes (of miniatures) that were released for the first two FC releases (Klingon Border and Klingon Attack) are suitable for Klingon Armada - though this system is intended to allow for fleet battles to play out more quickly than Fed Commander does.
That gives you a range of Federation, Klingon, Kzinti, Tholian and Orion ships to kick things off with.
Apparently, the next release will be Romulan Armada, which will itself follow the squadron box layout of Romulan Border and Romulan Attack - i.e. more Federation ships, as well as Gorn and Romulan vessels.
After that, time will tell how things go...
Anyone interested in giving this system a try, or picking up the Starmada book for other use?
