Kirk & the Orion cadet- was it appropriate? Indecent? Cool?

I've heard talk of how we didn't need to subject younger Trek fans to Kirk's amourous proclivities in such a graphic manner, but I personally feel that the kissy-lovey stuff is less damaging to small humans than PG-13 violence, especially with underwear STILL ON!!;)

I approved, did you?

You prevert.

Green Orion babe breasts? Yummy.
This thread seems to be moving towards the "R" rating, and that was not my intention.
Moderators, is this kind of talk okay?
I mean, it is with ME, but carnal knowledge details might be... a thing of regulated ... er, propriety, or some such...

I thought that the scenes in which billions of people died were totally acceptable, but the scene where we saw two women in their underwear will pervert the minds of our children.

Check California first. ;) You may not find an Orion, but I don't think you'll be sorry either.

I am kind of borderline on this one. It certainly wasnt over the top by any means..., and kids see worse on television and in commercials all the time....but if i had a younger child with me i probably wouldnt have appreciated it.

Im thankful it wasnt anything like the crap they pulled in Enterprise.

I remember being very uncomfortable with the bathtub scene in Insurrection and the violation scene in Nemesis as i had my son with me and he was young at that time.

As a parent with a child with you it makes you see scenes like these in a completely different light.

The scene wasn't indecent, as such, it just showed how much of a jerk Kirk was ("That is so weird...") and how he was just using Gaila for his own ends. Obviously he didn't really care about her.

College students fooling around in their dorm rooms? Horrors!

Seriously, it was a mildly racy scene in a PG-rated movie. Seemed perfectly appropriate to me.

Since when was Star Trek supposed to be squeaky clean?

The scene was very true to the spirit of original Trek and Kirk and was not indecent whatsoever.
