Visitor plays Kira as the whiniest freedom fighter in the galaxy.

I couldn't have put it better myself! Kira was, while a likable enough character, EXTREMELY overrated.

Then again, I may be biased because, while neither character stood out as being that great to me before "Star Trek: Picard" was released, AFTER that show reintroduced us to Seven I tend to think she is the better character.

It's hard to rate the two fairly. Seven was a standout in a show that was a vast waste of character potential. Kira was a strong and well developed character in a show of strong and well developed characters.

Well, pre-Michael Burnham, anyway.

Actually, I put both characters far ahead of Burnham for a very simple reason.

They are portrayed as having flaws and can be wrong on occasion. That is realistic.

Burnham continually is shown to be in the right even when she IS wrong. That is not realistic.

I like the actress, and her character is a really good one, but she suffers from the same problem as Janeway. While Janeway was written much more inconsistantly (Mulgrew really was a terrific actress to be able to be as good a character as she was despite the writers.), Burnham doesn't really have that excuse.

I can only imagine what Kate Mulgrew could have done with a Janeway who was like Sisko: fallible, having weaknesses, and going on a lengthy character journey.

Good thing I wasn't drinking something because that might caused me to make a spit take. Would have ruined my computer and everything. I think Kira is the greatest Female character in Trek history. They could have done a spin-off on her character by just sending her off of DS9 at the end to command a Starship or become a governor of a colony or something.

Michael's first appearance ended with her starting a war with the Klingons, getting her captain killed, and killing rather than capturing T'Kuvma. The entire first season one was one giant redemption arc for her.

This argument is complete nonsense.
