Kings finale on hulu SPOILERS

I don't think this served as any kind of ending. Things are getting too interesting for it to end now. Michelle is pregnant and exiled, David is in hiding in Gath, Cross is on the run and the gay son has been locked in a room, forced to have intercourse with a hot woman so he can produce an heir. The horror! I want to find out what happenes next. Plus, the real ending is when David becomes king. I especially wanted to see that. I'm glad we at least got a brief dream sequence a few episodes back showing him as king, in a suit, sitting at Silas' chair on the council. Speaking of Silas, Ian McShane has been phenomenal to watch. Loved his walk down the deserted street back to the palace to take back what was his. The guy has presence.

I read yesterday that the show has developed a cult following and that it's back on the bubble as opposed to fully cancelled, but I don't know how much truth there is to that or if the show can really come back at this point. I was provided with at least a little hope though. Kings should have been on cable to begin with.

I don't think Kings would end with David as King. That would end one chapter of the series but if successful it would continue with his reign and eventual fall (Bathsheba would hopefully be played by a total hottie), then maybe move onto Solomon. With the wealth of story in the Old Testament this show could go on for a while. Of course that requires and audience and budget. And a decent timeslot.

Hmm, that's true huh -- after all, the show is called "Kings" and not "King Silas" or "David" etc. And is the show really on the bubble again? Would the good reviews combined with positive net viewings provide enough momentum to support at least a concluding TV movie to seal up the current storyline with David?

Part One of the finale was definitely the best episode. It was epic and amazing. Part Two was good too but not so much. I was disappointed when Silas goes from 'I'll do whatever you want God!' to hunting down Shepherd or whatever. It looked like they teaching Silas to be a better person but then he regressed.

He was willing to do what God wanted, up until he actually learned what it was God wanted. He thought God was talking to him and showing him His favor, and that got dashed away in the blink of an eye, causing Silas to snap.

Whoever decided to cancel it needs to fall out of god's favor. Whether on cable or as a limited run summer series, its too damn good to go away.

No, who ever failed to market it is an idiot who needs to be flogged.

And Richard, I got one one word for you "Masada".

Gilboa is a new civilization... What must their equivalence of the Holy Roman Empire be? Some thing Old that laughs about Gilboa and Gath straightening their backs a little while still tussling like children.

God should have been in the show since the beginning.

Then?

He still might not be?

Is Silas crazy?

I'm guessing God asked for David to be the King RIGHT NOW instead of waiting for Silas to just die of natural causes.

Though, I have to wonder what it was that made him lose favor with God in the first place. Was it the deal with Death to save Michelle?

Ended up being a really decent show, going to miss it...

Liked the Queen exiling Michelle for a year to hide the pregnancy and the baby ;)

Surely death was god?

A better man?

Sure.

But Davie?

Fuck that.

God screwed him.

God chose Silas as the King in the first place, and then he set Silas up so he could replace him using Death and Michelle basically as a hostage.

But...why? Why did God withdraw his support of Silas, and decide on David? In the Old Testament it was because Silas/Saul refused to wait for Samuel to do a holy ritual and did the ritual himself despite God saying only his Prophet could do that. What did Silas do here?

David showed up ten minutes after Jack was captured because Silas betrayed him and... God does love the homos, of course the omnipotent one can't love them too much since he screwed Jack over too for queue jumping.

I'm really bummed, too.

I *loved* that show.

I really am pissed, though, that all the "God is really there" stuff seemed to be only in the last episode. I *loved* the camera tilt down to the glass on the floor when David and Silas left the room.

Silas did a lot of little things that built up to a whole lot of evil. We've only seen a fraction of those things in the series. From willing to sacrifice his son, to murdering political rivals on a whim, to laughing in the face of Reverend Samuel (and by proxy God Himself). He's basically the personification of the adage "absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Free will is a bitch.

This was a great show. The ending could have been better, but the quality was strong throughout the season.

The ending is excusable. They had filmed the entire season before the first episode even aired, and they ended it as a season ender rather than a series finale. It's a shame.

I really don't know why quality shows try to get on the network stations; those channels are for the ignorant masses now. If it's not a reality show or talentless competition show, chances are its going to fail miserably.

^I also agree. This was such a well written, well put together show--an INTELLIGENT show with a great actor at the center of it.

And to put it on Sunday night as the lead in for Celebrity Apprentice? REALLY? And then they wonder why it didn't do well. It wasn't marketed well, or scheduled properly or even advertised regularly.

*SIGH* Another good show bites the dust.

I really wish they had just put in on cable to begin with. If they had, we'd probably be discussing what's going on to happen on season 2 instead.
