King Of The Hill

I love the series. I admit that the first two seasons were the weakest for me, but it took off from there and I enjoyed the Hills, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer almost as much as I enjoyed the Simpsons.

As far as I'm concerned, one of the funniest things ever is the episode where Dale is trying to train a falcon and it will only attack Bill over and over again. Even though I've seen it at least a dozen times, I still laugh out loud.

Loved the show, sad it ended. It's nice that it's on constantly now in syndication, though I barely ever actually watch it, it's comforting to know it's still around. Speaking of which, whatever happened to those 3-4 produced episodes that never aired on FOX? They're supposed to air in syndication at some point but the show ended almost a year ago now!

I'm a big fan,I was hoping it would be revived somehow but with the passing of Brittany Murphy I guess it's just as well it ended.:(

Adult Swim will probably air them.

Its on Adult Swim at 10:00pm eastern time and Fox at 1:00am eastern time. Which makes it worth it not to get the DVD boxsets. Do get season one and two it comes with deleted scenes, extended scenes, comentaries, and stills. So its worth the purchase, but avoid the other seasons.

Great show! Dale is my favourite character. My favourite episode, though is the one where the Hill's insurance has expired. I think it's a really great episode of tv, not just of the show itself, because the humour comes from the character.

I like this series. It's more mellow and meandering than your typical animated sitcom; but when it works it really works. Peggy Hill's conceitedness can be very, very funny in particular.

I love the show and connect with the characters. I think we all know a Hank, a Dale, a Bill, a Boomhauer, a Peggy. We know people like these, and it only makes the show more endearing. As for myself, I have friends like all four (Hank, Dale, Bill & Boomhauer), but I have to say without a doubt that I definitely know a Dale.

I've only seen the two first seasons and I love it already :D

Funny enough, the show probably features the best Asian American characters ever on American television. Which either says a lot about the quality of the show or the quality of American TV.

I do find it annoying that Bobby is always wrong, no matter what. It just seems rather sad that Hank almost never backs him up.

Yup! I have been a fan from day one, and the show rarely disappointed. I have a lot of respect for the way Mike Judge handles his comedy: You either laugh or you don't, but he will not spell it out for you. There are almost no cheap gags and filler. The comedy comes from well-developed characters and from letting the air out of pretentious and phony people and trends.

One of the things that impressed me about the show at first was the Joseph/John Redcorn thing. It was just left to the audience to put together and referred to subtly if at all. It wasn't till season three that anyone addressed it head-on. Most shows would have milked that situation for every joke possible.

KotH also reminds me a lot of my all-time favorite TV comedy, The Andy Griffith Show. The jokes are given breathing room to develop at their own pace, coming more naturally from the characters, rather than the set-up/punchline/hold for laughs/repeat rhythm of most sitcoms.

It's not a big deal since it's so readily available in reruns, but I wish Fox would release the rest of the seasons on DVD.

Just FYI - Apparently Fox affiliates are airing the missing episodes at midnight or something (including the Dale/Redcorn episode)... not having cable, I'm just taking people's word for it though.

I used to watch it all the time, but I stopped many years ago. I was honestly surprised it lasted as long as it did.

The series has recently become available to watch instantly on Netflix.

Yeah, there are four unaired eps. I think they're being aired every day this week? The last one aired yesterday I think.
