King of the Hill 3/30/08: Pour Some Sugar on Kahn

Hey you fellow propaniacs, it's finally spring, and the yard is starting to come in nicely, and another grillstravaganza is right around the corner. So as soon as the yard is mowed, join us out the alley for some cold Alamo on ice.

Well Arlen's own version of Jin and Sun are our focus this week as Minh's father comes to Arlen for a visit much to Kahn's dismay. And it seems he'll do anything to keep from going home. Hopefully he won't be delivering any rolex watches. He''l just be killing out ears is all.

Kahn escapes to the bar and takes up Karaoke after Minh's father comes to visit. Meanwhile, Bobby and Peggy compete in an escalating game where they try to outdo each other.

Looks like Hank is in the background this week, I wonder what Peggy and Bobby are going to get into.

See you in the alley.

The title of this episode is an allusion to the 1987 Def Leppard song "Pour Some Sugar on Me", but you already knew that.

It was pretty funny, I was glad to see another Kahn episode...and glad to get any new King of the Hill at all...is this the last season? :(
 
My guess is, it might have been at one point, but the writer's strike inevitably means that some stories meant for this season weren't told. Plus Fox is not going to want to disrupt the lineup when the shows return in the fall.

A good joke I think they missed :

Peggy : Hank, does Khan's relationship with the General remind you of--you know, anyone?

Hank : Bill and almost any woman you can name?

Peggy : Closer to home.

Hank : Oh, you mean Luann and Leann. Yeah, how that girl still loved her mother, after all she...

Peggy : Hank--what is the rank directly below General?

Hank : Depends on which branch of the service you're talking about. Do Laotian military folks even use stars?

Peggy (Sighs) Hank, describe Khan's relationship with the General as you see it.

Hank : Kinda sad, really, what with him trying to please an abusive old man who he never has a prayer of succeeding with. Yeah, a man like that makes himself less a man without even realizing it. You called it, Peggy. Bill and his lady-acquaintances. That's them to a tee.

(Peggy walks out; we hear the noise of a head banging against the nearby wall as the scene closes)
 
Poor Kahn he just can't stop being a jerk..the guy has no friends but if he would just look he would see that Hank and the guys are more than willing to let him join them in the alley.

I personally don't believe we've seen the last of Cotton. It'd be just like the SOB to leave a video will, just to tear Hank a new one from beyond. Plus, whatever did happen to his 1-watt dimbulb wife and new son?

I think they may have touched on it when Hank in the alley mentioned that he felt some sympathy for Kahn. But yeah, it was very Hank & Cotton.

What was that song that Ted Wasonason was singing in "Karoke?"

I wish Kahn hadn't folded so quickly when the General talked to him alone there at the end.

I like it when they show other sides to the Soupnousapones. showing us that they are more fleshed out charachters than the materialistic social climbing borderline racist people we usually see. Like with Minh joining Dale's Gun club.

"Kahn, you have a rainbow in your mouth open it for the world."
