i am in the mood for some Among us.
I thought, this thread could serve as a group finder here.
Let me know if you are up for a few rounds.

Could we open an official TBBS discord?
With similar subcategories as the main board?
One of those could be gaming options and we could do callouts to other gaming members there directly.
Might be helpful in getting spontaneous groups

Why do all Among Us streamers refer to their clever tactics as ‘6400 IQ’ or something? It makes it seem like they’re trying to sell me freemium games.

It‘s a dumb meme. They try to make their plays look hyper smart.
Smarter than everybody else.
It‘s kinda funny, cause it sounds like „I love you 3000!“
Just think „WOW“ and move on.

Did you ever have a near perfect impostor game that you messed up with one big blunder at the end?

I had a game in public forums with 10 players and 1 impostor. I got three or four totally clean kills in with no sus on me. Down to 4, the other players wouldn't leave each other and I couldn't even get a good lights kill. So I decide to hit O2 to split them up, do the 50/50 thing where you kill one and blame the other, and didn't notice all three came the same way so I would have won on oxygen depletion if I didn't impulsively kill one.

Also, do you know a good place to find good players? Playing in public kinda sucks, every game has 2-3 players who just quit and you get a lot of vulgar 12 year olds. But RL friends only want to play like once a week.

Well, we could friend each other on discord or Steam. I would let you know when my group plays. Having one more person potentially available never hurts.

I looked into joining a public Among Us discord channel.
There are still some of the randoms issues, but it felt a little better.
The problem there was a serious jump in difficulty.
People sussed me out super easily and I had trouble making myself heard.

I wouldn't mind playing a few games with really good players so long as they're nice good players and not 'HAHA NOOB' good players. I'd learn their strategies.

I'm in a couple of decent Discord groups for Among Us. The Reddit server is mostly good, and you start seeing the same people so you get to know a few of them. I'm also in a smaller offshoot server that has a good mix of "trying to play the game while also being silly" that suits my style.

Controversial take:

In Among Us, the impostors are really the good guys.

Think about it. Earth sent a group of scientist clones to experiment with terraforming their home world and they're defending themselves. Every time the tasks are complete, it means that the crewmates have successfully proven the planet is viable for human colonization and communicated it to home base, who then sent an invasion force to wipe out the impostors' entire race to colonize and terraform their home planet.

New map is huge, clearly designed to be played with larger groups.

I don’t like the way they replaced free chat with a list of specific statements. I get they probably did it in response to bullying claims. But they should have only changed it in public servers. For people who don’t have voice chat option I can’t see how the game is fun that way.

If you create a profile it allows you to have free chat again. On the main screen there is a button on the left asking you to log in, just go through that.

And you're right, the new map is huge. I played with some friends at the weekend but had one too many drinks before starting and barely got my bearings.
