Kim's face and responce was classic

Garak007

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Everyone has been giving Kim greef on this forum but his reaction in the Epsoide "The Cloud" was classic.

We he shouts out "I have not seen anything like it" and Tuvok slams him down by sending him an personal message through the com badge which some how only he can hear. "Recation like that from a bridge officer makes the junior officers nervus". The look on Kim's face after that commit was clasic like WTF :guffaw:

Before there has been over senior officers before I am sure have reacted the same way.

Kim's responce was like F you. You have have not seen this passing that barrier in that nebular. :techman: for Kim imo

Besides, Kim is a guy fresh out of the academy on his FIRST assignment - surely the very definition of a junior officer!

Isn't that the one with the Doctors response to the question of whether they hurt the nebula creature about shooting it with phasers and firing a torpedo at it?

Also Neelix's "better than coffee" substitute, some comedy bits in that episode.

I never understood how Kim was considered a "senior" officer when this was his first assignment EVER out of the academy, and he was for all seven years, only an ensign.

He was a Department head. Any episode we saw an extra sitting in Kim's spot, that bugger worked for Harold Kim, a despot who wrote monthly performance evaluations and biannual promotion evaluations for his underlin... O. Is that it? Harry had to write his own scathingly HONEST performance evaluations and biannual promotion evaluations about himself and then submit them to Chakotay who agreed with Kim even after he'd adjusted and translated for vanity and delusion, that Harry wasn't any where ready for promotion.

How many people worked in his department anyway? 3 maybe four people? How much of his staff had Harry promoted to Ensign making them his "equal" or to Lieutenant jg and out of Harry's department completely.

Besides he couldn't keep the Ops job if he got promoted since it had to be performed by an Ensign as it was a gross waste of the abilities of a higher ranked officer to slum it at that station and Kim wouldn't get promoted if all he wanted to do was be king of the castle over in Operations.

Consider. Where he was He was an Ensign directly in charge of maybe as many as 5 ensigns or enlisted crewmen, but if he transferred to another department as a Lieutenant jg, suddenly he'd be in a crowd of twenty Lieutenant jg's, ensigns and enlisted crewmen all working for a Full Lieutenant who would never be able to spot young Harry as anything distinctive hiding in the rows and rows of his or her minions.

I wonder how being a Night Shift Commander bolstered his jacket?
