Killjoys Season 1: Discussion and Spoilers

I guess with only a 10-episode season, you have to move things along.

Last night was episode 7, so only 3 left.

If there's a second season, I expect it to be an uprising against the 1%, with the Killjoys supposedly remaining neutral in the middle, while occasionally being asked to hunt down rebel criminals, but secretly trying to help the rebels too. Or maybe nothing like that.

By the way, did that black market space station/hollow Borg cube seem totally out of place to other folks? It seemed to be too much for the Quad. I guess maybe like with that medical ship at the end, there's all sorts of stuff going on, we just don't see it. (Also, that reminds me: bartender guy flew up to the medical ship? Or was the medical ship just an ambulance that transported him to a planetside hospital? And how did the friendly doctor lady get to their ship anyways, wasn't it at some hidden black ops site?)

Yay Amanda Tapping!

There was a movie called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I wonder if this title is any kind of riff on that. Probably not.

I loved that Utopia cube in space.

I hope the soldier-bot storyline is done now. Back to Mystery Man and his red boxes.

I confess, I didn't recognize Amanda Tapping--and I've actually seen her in person and gotten her autograph! :)

"Mr Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" was a track on the Thunderball soundtrack in 1965. Far as I can tell, that's the term's origin.

IIRC, it also turned into a nickname for James Bond in Japan.

I had no idea Amanda Tapping was going to be on the show. It actually took me a minute to recognize her. I was definitely surprised to see her playing the villain.
It was pretty surprising that we got so much detailed information about what is going on with D'avin.
I do agree with you guys about the fact that Lucy really should have had some kind of emergency procedure right away.
Was this our first confirmation that Pawter was part of one of The Nine. I remember them talking about her being rich, but I didn't remember them saying she was a member of one of the families in charge of the company.

She's a member of the nine by proxy. Remember, she's in charge of raising the child of the one family.

I think we're confusing characters here. Pawter Sims is the psychiatrist slumming it on Westerly. Delle Serah Kendry is the aristocrat acting as regent to the infant heir.

Both have roots on Qresh, although Pawter seems to have fallen out of favor with the Nine Families.

That would explain why I didn't remember that in relation to Simms. I noticed that Delle Kendry, and Eleanor Simm (Pawter's real name) both have Sayeh between their first and last names. I wonder if that's some kind of title for members of The Nine Families.

Heh. I wonder if Amanda Tapping ended up doing this at about the same time she was in Toronto to direct Dark Matter..? The timelines match up and although her home in Vancouver is a reasonable flight away, kill two sci-fi birds with one stone...

Vancouver to Toronto is about 85% of the distance from LA to New York, and nearly twice the Vancouver-LA distance. It's a pretty long flight.

True, by our North American standards. Mind you, I fly from Calgary to Toronto at least twice annually for work stuff, and my bosses triple that. :) In any case, I know many actors fly LAX-LGA or somesuch often enough for work too.

For those who don't know the other flight time, travel between Vancouver and Toronto is about 4 to 4.5 hours depending on the direction.
