In a near future technology-reliant society, man is pitted against killing machines.

An elite army unit is helicoptered to a remote, off-the-grid island facility. What starts out as a simple training exercise for Captain Bukes and his tight-knit squad, descends into a terrifying battle to the death, as the marines discover the island is overrun by an enemy that transcends the human concept of evil.

I saw it. A more than competently made low budget thriller, that looks like a $25 million+ movie. Sure it uses the very common trope of AI overtaking us to our detriment (no less than 3 low budget "b" films have just appeared this week with the same trope) but it's one of the more effective. To sum it it up, it's kind of a cross between Terminator (without time travel) and Predator. The acting is several levels above the usual low budget movie that makes it to Netflix or to store shelves. The CGI is very close to blockbuster level. This movie is what they used to call a "sleeper".

It includes some of the more realistic robot creations of recent movies, an extension of the defunct Boston Dynamics Big Dog.They come in three flavors:

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a diverting sci-fi thriller who is looking for something other than the tent pole superhero or scifi films.
