I just wasn't sure with the "smartass" part in there. I get called that a lot, and it isn't usually complimentary.

I agree with many of the topics posted. Growing up in the early seventies, i had totally expected that we would be going back and forth to the moon no differently than taking a commercial flight somewhere. It has been a great let down in many ways.

The topic about kids today. It just seems like kids are expected, almost pushed, to know exactly what they should be, as an adult, by the time they are 12-13 years old. It just feels like they don't get to be kids anymore. i know during my generation, I graduated HS in 1987, that we did one of two things, typically. We either joined the military and figured out our career path, or went to college and figured things out there.

It really doesn't feel like these kids now a days have that option. They are pushed so early on to be the best, have the most, and expect more. One of the very early posts here probably summed it all up; they really don't know how to just play anymore.

IMHO, yes. The kids of today are very unimaginative. I'm 15 and still like getting my phasers out and playing Captain Kirk
