So, I'm surprised there wasn't a thread for this already, and I couldn't find one if there was.

How do you feel about Katy Perry of 'I Kissed a Girl' fame?

Personally, I fucking hate her.

First, she creates a song with a title that's been done before as a different song, clearly just to get attention. She's a preacher's daughter who tried doing the straight arrow Christian music thing before deciding being a 'bad girl' would be a better career move and was quoted as saying she'd do pretty much anything to get famous.

On top of that, 'I Kissed a Girl' is obnoxious and rather insulting, and if I may stand on my soapbox a moment sets a poor example for women, furthering the idea that you can be a whore to be popular. (And it's not just because girls kissing girls doesn't do anything for me, if it were boys I'd have the same issue.) I don't understand how feminists haven't assassinated her yet.

She has minimal to non-existent talent and is in summary an embodiment of what's wrong with modern music. I hope she goes away quickly, and I strongly suspect she will.

Thoughts?

Anyone who helps promote an end to heteronominative language in the popular culture is cool by me. Plus, she's kinda hot.

When I think of her sometimes I'm hot and sometimes I'm cold, sometimes yes sometimes no....actually, I hate that fucking song!

"I Kissed A Girl..." Is the best song ever.

Katy Perry really cute. I'd do her in heartbeat.

The rest of her music?

Bah.

Really? Or do you just like it because she's talking about kissing another girl? :p

That said, I have found myself head-bopping to her at work. It's catchy, but that's all, and she's annoying.

Well, then that's at least understandable.

I mean, how can it not be hot?! She's talking about tasting another girl's lipstick and the excitement of it!

I mean, it's hot!

The video is hot too!

:)

Well, if I were straight (or if she were a good looking boy singing about boys) I'm sure I'd enjoy it too. ;)

There are several celeb guys I can think of that I find attractive but still annoying.

I really am surprised it didn't cause a fuss among women, though.

Guilty pleasure. I don't normally go for pop music, but her songs are very catchy. And yeah I think she is very hot. I wouldn't buy her album, but I'll watch the video or listen to the song when it comes on. And I'll jerk off to her pictures when she decides to do Playboy.

Wasn't sure who she was but now I remember. Your basic train wreck. A no talent and a bad example for kids...as usual.
