Katy Manning

^Well there is some mention of her in Sarah Jane Adventures...
I've forgotten now what that mention said, I recall it occurring (Along with Teagan and Barbara and Ian), but, just can't remember what was said about Ace. I know in a book or an audio she apparently became a Time Lord somehow.

Sarah Jane talked about a woman called Dorothy who ran a company with the acronym ACE (can't recall what it stood for at the moment) :)

Ace needs a proper return to the series if only to give her one last onscreen adventure and a proper, onscreen exit. Bring Ace back! Someone should start a petition.

Plus, you were almost sure to see her knickers* at some point during an adventure. :)

*We don't use the word knickers in the states but it seems so right when talking about classic Who.

Our friends across the Pond would probably get a bigger kick out of that post, had you left out the words "the word" as I have done above ;)

I loved Jo back in the day, when I was a little girl. She was the stylish, slightly naughty big sister I never had. I loved her clothes and hair, and she hung out with the coolest guys. Even now, when I watch her episodes I get wistful that I never grew up to have her dress sense, or out of this world companions!

A Charitable Earth. from what i read, Sophie was not impressed with that idea...

I tend to think of A.C.E as her Wayne Enterprises; her public day job. (Perhaps she even employs Hex and Raine, and they are off saving the world quietly on the side)

She runs a charity as much as Sarah Jane is a journalist. SJ hardly broadcasts her real exploits to the world, does she?

I've heard the opposite, because among other things it leaves the door open for her character to return to the series someday, unlike the other "fates of Ace" detailed in the various novels and webcasts that suggests she's either dead, working as a freedom fighter in some far-off galaxy, in training to be a Time Lord (which means probably also dead or trapped in the Time War "time lock"), or living in the 19th century. Having her active in the 21st century makes it possible (even if they never do it) for Sophie to make a guest appearance someday.

Same for Liz Shaw - Caroline John's character was actually killed off by the Virgin New Adventures novel series, but this was overridden by SJA when it established she's still working for UNIT and on its moonbase, yet! Of the UNIT family, we know of course about the Brigadier, and presumably it'll be established in due course that Sarah Jane is no more. It's also heavily implied in the SJA series that Harry Sullivan is dead too (reflecting the death of Ian Marter back in 86).
