Katy Manning visits TARDIS set

Katy Manning, who played Third Doctor companion Jo Grant, happened to be filming a guest appearance for Casualty near the TARDIS set, and popped by for a visit. She had a number of pictures taken on the set with Peter Capaldi, which she posted on her Twitter. The most notable one is this one, which echoes a shot of her with Jon Pertwee from "Colony in Space":

Yeah, cool photos. I kind of wish it was an indication she could be appearing on the show, even if it were just a cameo. But sadly, I know that's not the case, that this was just a visit.

I love Katy Manning but I won't pretend that I'm hungry for more appearances by Jo Grant, who was never the most compelling of companions, to say the least.

It wouldn't surprise me if maybe there's some kind of companions documentary in the offing maybe?

Possibly. Both Peter Davison and Louise Jameson also visited the new TARDIS set recently

Or maybe it's just the old guard being invited to see what's become of the show they've all been apart of.

I don't particularly like Jo and Katty Manning looks like she's auditioning to play the Jack Nicholson Joker these days, but that photo even touched my cold dead heart.

I knew about Katy's visit last week (and I love their recreation of the iconic photo), but I didn't know about Louise's and Peter's visits!

Peter (Davison) was on set for the recent "Ultimate Time Lord" special that aired prior to "Deep Breath". It was a mediocre special that used a search for what makes an "ultimate" Time Lord as an excuse to basically have Peter host a clip show, but fun to see him also meeting up with DW actors old and new for a brief chat.

Didn't know Louise Jameson had been to the set. It's almost like anyone remotely connected with the franchise gets a pass these days!

Considering the showrunner and lead actor are both lifelong DW fans, are you surprised?

I also liked some of the photos where a younger Gatiss was playing the doctor early on--just for fun--when he had curly hair...in one of the magazines.
