Um, I guess this a Star Trek IN literature, but has anyone ever noticed that there’s a Kathy Janeway in L.A. Confidential? She meets an ignominious end, but the name jumped out at me.

It's not a series, it's a 1990 James Ellroy "neo-noir" crime novel that was the basis for the 1997 Kevin Spacey/Russell Crowe movie. I haven't read it, but reading up on it now, I'd say it's hardly desirable to connect it to Trek, given that what happens to the character of that name (a 14-year-old girl) is rather awful (to the point that even the extremely dark, violent, and sordid film adaptation chose to omit it altogether).
