You do understand that, at some point, Kennedy will step aside and move on with her life? If her contract is expiring next year, it makes a natural stepping off point for her.

I haven’t heard of any talks of extending the arrangement, so they may both be in agreement about the future.

I've heard the name before, though I don't really know anything about her. I don't think she's "Fandom Menace" but I wouldn't call her a reputable source either. Though I'll admit, Kennedy retiring with Filoni and Favreau replacing her isn't the most far-fetched thing I've heard.

Yes, thank you, we're all aware that the OP is full of horseshit. Most of us had that figured out before you arrived on the scene. Doesn't change the fact there may be a real possibility that a 68 year old woman who's contract is due to expire next year might in fact be planning to stepping aside.

She likes her job, and doesn't want to quit? Not everything has to be about accomplishments.
People have been talking about her quitting or being fired practically since she was hired, and it hasn't happened yet, and I haven't seen any real evidence that is going to change. The sequel trilogy has been successful, both at the box office, and despite what some people want to believe, with the majority of fans and critics. So unless they suddenly start firing people for doing a good job, I think Kennedy's job is safe for the time being.

I never said anything about her being fired. But for everyone, there comes a time when you walk away. Her being 68, with an expiring contract and a change at the highest levels of Disney. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her walk away on her terms while she’s on top.

I hope it's true. I think it would be nice though if she didn't retire and simply went to another job to sort of end her career on a high note. Even if it was something like producing a top caliber Oscar level movie. I also like the idea of Jon Faverau and Dave Filoni taking over. They both seem to have a good grasp not only on the material but also how to work around the monster that is the Disney corporation to still make great stuff.

Yes, she * could * choose to retire at the end of next year, but just because something * could * happen doesn't mean it's going to, and we shouldn't be discussing completely bogus 'news' as if it holds some portent just based on a "could" scenario.

If we get into next year and credible rumblings about her future start surfacing, then we can have a serious and legit discussion.

She made a crap ton of money for LFL and Disney. I don't see how that is not a high note.

Regardless, I believe not one wit of this report and have no doubt, none, that Kennedy will leave on her terms. She has earned it.

I think BillJ means she might be leaving, but that it's because she's simply retiring. But you're right that her being fired is not happening. For all we know in the next few months she'll announce her retirement, this has been discussed, someone in a corridor picked up 'Kennedy leaving', gossiping begins and before you know it, idjits on the interwebz claim she's being fired.

68 seems kind of young to me. Unless she has some health concerns I am not familiar with. I mean it's not exactly a back breaking job were your body is going to be wearing out do to manual labor. Ever picture I have seen of her makes her look very active and alert. I bet if she wanted she could go another 5 years at least.

I hope to retire by 65. That’s what many aim for. But I doubt sincerely Kennedy needs the money.
