That's what I was getting at. Giving up her daughter must have been extremely difficult. That's why I'm so on the fence about reading it, so heartbreaking. I was unaware about the loss of her siblings.

Yeah, very sad. :( But she connected with her daughter as an adult and from what I understand it went well.

But yes that part of the book will most certainly be sad.

Margaret and Therese. "Maggie" in infancy and Tess as they called her, died at 14 Brain tumor :-( Kate mentioned Tess. She was having a revelation about coming to an understanding it was her sister's time.
