I was dissapointed with Smith because I didn't want such a young pretty Doctor. Gotta say, though, this hot companion may make up for that.

Imagine if a new companion looked like that! Actually I wouldn't mind if the Doctor had a second wilder type companion sometimes but I understand the audience identification figure.
She's a cutie and looks quite natural. No slight at Tennant but I'm looking forward to the big changeover, should be interesting if nothing else.
George Gallaccio is one of the Doctor's previous faces from "The Brain of Morbius." (Or, in the parallel universe where Doctor Who itself changes to reflect preferred fan conceptions, he's one of Morbius' previous faces.)

I don't deny fans their need to ad lib their personal fanon, but I can't say I'll ever quite understand it...

For all we know, Gillan's character could be, like Izzy, a lesbian. Which could be interesting; the Doctor (maybe) fancies her, and she has absolutely no interest.
