Just what was going on in 'Cold Front'?

Saul

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Silik saves the Enterprise. Daniels doesn't give Archer a straight answer as to whether or not the Enterprise was supposed to be destroyed. But if Archer is an important part of the founding of the Federation why would Daniels allow the ship to be destroyed? The ship must have been destroyed if Silik was told how to save the ship by future guy. But if Archer is killed then the timeline is completely changed and Future Guy would disappear and and!......

thoughts?

Unfortunately, the TCW stories were made up as they went along, with no grand plan. They most likely simply hadn't come up with the idea that Archer would be so important to the founding of the Federation until "Shockwave" (a repeat of which, btw, doesn't happen when Archer is similarly jumped forwards in "Azati Prime" and "Zero Hour")

Although, I guess it's possible they weren't meant to be destroyed, but Daniels was severely pissed that is was a rival faction that saved the Enterprise when it was his mission to keep them safe and engender their trust.

They had a plan for this episode.

But Jolene wouldn't let any of the skeevy interns apply ice to her nipples.

Archer is not important to the founding of the federation.

Archer dies.

Future guy is protected inside a temporal shield.

The universe might be changing out side of his shield, but he's confident that it's all for the best.

Daniels dies on the Enterprise before he can fix the cluster fuckery to the timeline caused by Archer surviving.

Later, other appearances by Daniels, are other Daniels born from timelines where Archer did found the Federation.

Did you see him on Desperate housewives the other day.

So old.
