just watched Reckoning 1 & 2.... WOW

I didn't like season 9 so much but things did pick up in season 10. Especially with Vala fitting into Jacks former role of providing the humor.

Target had both seasons on sale for $17 last week. I don't know if they still are.

I don't think that it got worse, instead it just changed. Granted there were some clunkers, but I don't think that it got worse. Nah..

The writing got lazy, the plots got rehashed, the cast changed for the worst, the Jack and Daniel characters lost any shred of respectability, and the whole show became a sort of silly parody of itself.

Nowhere near the quality of seasons 1 to 6, not even close.

Okay, I agree that they all did get lazy, but it was still entertaining..wasn't it?

Well I'm watching season 10 now and the Ori plot seems pretty interesting. A nice breath a fresh air after all the earlier seasons dealing with the system lords. But the reckoning & threads episodes are still the hilight of the series for me thus far.

Well the Ori arc could have had a better ending if they had gotten another season like they wanted in sted of shoving the whole thing into one direct to DVD movie.

A few episodes every now and then were entertaining in a 'switch your brain off' sort of way, but again in my opinion anyway it was mostly garbage and not a patch on classic SG-1.

The show was dying a very long painful death by season 10, it had to end.

What amazes me with these people running the show, is that they don't plan for potential cancellation. I appreciate that it's not easy but surely they had heard hints of the show coming to an end? And even if they didn't, after 10 years you'd think they might expect it sooner or later.

NOTHING can excuse that piece of garbage Unending.

I just hope Enemy at the Gate is good, again, the excuse that they 'found out the week before' is a bit lame.

They planned on not coming back for another season, every year after s6. It was when they didn't plan on it (s10), assuming Sci Fi would renew them, is when the hammer dropped on 'em for the first time....

The Reckoning/ Threads trio is some pretty great stuff. By no means was it Lost City but it was still some of my favorite episodes of the series. Season 9 and 10 are pretty good, I hope you enjoy them!

I just finished season 10, going to watch Ark of Truth soon. I'd have to say that the Goauld/Anubis arc from season 1-8 was a blast. The Ori arc definitely wasn't as good as the Goauld/Anubis arc. But it is a nice breath of fresh air. And it was nice to see and find out more of the Ancients. I also like the fact that season 9 and 10 had lot of episodes that were related to the Ori arc and not that many stand alone episodes. It felt more cohesive and concentrated. Season 4 and season 7 tended to drift away a lot, staying away from the main arc.

Thanks, yup I enjoyed them. I actually prefer Reckoning/Threads over Lost City because they tied up so many loose ends and brought closure to some threads. I loved how they brought in the Replicators, Anubis/Baal, Jaffa, Ascended Ancients and SG-1 together in those 3 episodes and told an exciting story. I would have been happy if season 8 was indeed the final season.

Anybody glad that they finally brought back Ra in the season 8 finale Moebius? It kinda brings a full circle closure to the original Stargate movie.

just finished Ark of Truth, great conclusion to the Ori arc. I liked how Morgan in energy form took out the weakened Adria the same way Oma took out Anubis in Threads.

Shame they couldn't figure out what to do in the movie, so filled half of it with replicators to pad the whole thing out.

This after Mallozi kept saying how "they couldn't wrap up the Ori arc in an episode"... funny, there was about 60 odd minutes of Ori content in Ark of Truth.

It was a little adhoc but i was satisfied with the conclusion to the Ori arc. I liked how they brought back Morgan from Pegasus Project to take out Adria. I agree with the replicator part, that was kind of pointless. It would have been a lot more interesting if the Ori fleet had to contend with them as well. Lost opportunity.
