I just watched the two parter Reckoning. Wow!!! Bleeping amazing episodes!! All that build-up with the replicators, system lords, anubis, baal, ascension storyline, ancients, jaffa... all clashing together.

Definitely my favorite two-parter of the series so far. Does season 9-10 and the Atlantis series get THIS good?? No spoilers please, first time viewer here.

THE 3 EPISODE ARC IN ATLANTIS S4, mortal coil, be all my sin remembered, and spoils of war and concludes in the final episodes

Seasons 9 and 10 do not reach the same heights, but the next episode, "Threads," is one of my absolute favorites.

I just saw Threads, another great episode. I was surprised to find that dude in the coffee shop was Anubis. I just had to re-watch the whole episode again with that in mind. So is that the end of Anubis or does he come back?

No, that's the end for both Oma and Anubis.

Unfortuntely Reckoning 1 & 2 and Threads is the climax of how good SG-1 got. From here, it only gets worse.

Huh? Relevant to the discussion how?

Depends on how you look at it. While I preferred the earlier seasons, seasons 9 and 10 were basically a different show altogether. If it was given more time, I suspect they could have had an epic finale to that story arc the way the Replicator/Gould arc ended.

Seasons nine and ten may not have reached the heights of Reckoning, or The Lost City. But I still enjoyed the final two seasons very much.

Yep. Those three episodes were absolutely fantastic. I remember when I first watched them. I wish the show had ended with Threads because it was as good a finale as we could get. Instead it got dragged out more and more and more.

The Reckoning two parter is indeed the finest couple of hours SG-1 has done. Hell, it may even be the finest in the entire Stargate franchise.

I'll probably enjoy seasons 9 and 10 too *hopefully*. But man, Reckoning was definitely the TOPS. I never had this much excitement watching a sci-fi tv show. I also want to add that the scenes with Baal and Anubis were awesome. They are definitely the coolest System Lords ever to appear in the series!

I just watched the 3-parter intro to season 9. It does seem like a very different show. Different cast, different enemies, and now with a religious fundamentalism theme to it. Well I hope i'll enjoy the rest couple of seasons.

You know I read somewhere that the guys in charge of Stargate were going for that

Which was probably a good decision, instead of dragging out the Anubis arc even further. I know for a time, they were considering rebranding the show as Stargate Command for season 9, but decided against it.

Yeah, it may have been a good idea to do that with a completely new team. It could've been interesting.

Let's not go that far.

Personally I liked Reckoning, it was one of the few excellent episodes of the last few seasons... but it was a bit all over the place, way too many plot lines inter-connecting. But hey, it was pretty fun.

I can't agree with that there's plenty of good stories left.

Yes, if 'plenty' of good stories left = 4 or so episodes in 2 years.

They should have just not done seasons 9 and 10 at all; neither as a new show or part of SG-1. They were garbage compared to the good old days

The Poster asked if there were any episodes that are arc based like Reckoning, and Threads...ummm read the post

I don't think that it got worse, instead it just changed. Granted there were some clunkers, but I don't think that it got worse. Nah..

Well I'm watching season 10 now and the Ori plot seems pretty interesting. A nice breath a fresh air after all the earlier seasons dealing with the system lords. But the reckoning & threads episodes are still the hilight of the series for me thus far.
