Just launched my new website! Looking for feedback--

Awesome pictures, Danoz. Are there any major differences among the Pages, Connections, Archives, Links, and Categories? The Links and Connections could probably be condensed into one category. The Categories and Pages also have links to your pictures and artwork. Just my two cents. Very nice! :)

Nice work, dude! Would you like me to put you on my blogroll? That would get you a link on the front page of my site, which is of a somewhat similar nature (focused on my writing and art).

Nice, flexible layout. The menu bar at the top is hard to see and largely redundant with the persistent sidebar content. I would lose it. The floating text top right also seems unnecessary as all that text is included in your lovely header artwork.

Thanks for the comments so far!

Okay! I spent the day incorporating a lot of these suggestions. Cleaned up the header and the navigation, added a nifty RSS image, etc.

Thoughts?

The sidebar/navigation looks better now. BTW, is the pretty lady in the colorful dress your girlfriend? She's cute. ;)

Nice clean design and look. Is that an original Wordpress theme, or did you modify a pre-existing theme?

Thanks for the comment! I started with a template for a full sized, fixed background image and expandable 3 columns. I made a number of changes to the code to fit my needs and design... I still may make some changes to the sidebar areas (more custom stuff, images etc).

I like the changes. The new RSS icon looks pretty cool although I wouldn't place it so prominently or have it so large. Putting it at the top of a column does interrupt the flow of the layout somewhat.

I put it to the bottom for now, I agree it was throwing off the navigation a bit. I like the size for now, only because I plan on creating more icons like that for other social networking tools (and then I'll probably make that about 25% of what it is).

I really appreciate all the feedback everybody, it's very helpful and as you can see I'm very receptive to it. Keep it coming! I'll be expanding on some of the pages (particularly the About and 3D design pages). For now I like using the Photography page to drive people to my Flickr account, I think.

The moved RSS icon is a definitely plus. The header looks much better now. One thing I noticed was that the comments section was a bit confusing. Between the Related Posts section, and the "subscribe to comments" notification, I had difficulty finding the one comment to your "When We Are In The Tavern" post. Maybe reducing some of the font sizes of the "extras" might help the comments stand out? Or, perhaps, use text (or even a graphic) to indicate that the comments section has begun?

http://porterbrew.com/?p=176 -- check it out. I agree entirely and broke it up a bit with underlines/bolds. I also cleared out some unnecessary funcationality that was poorly spaced.
