Just cannot get a traffic/moving citation lately...

No, don´t make them do their job. Better give them no reason to do their job. If someone wants to play with the own health and life... fine, though might be also unfair to the own family and friends, but reckless drivers make me angry, because they play with the health and life and happiness of others.
Reckless driving is certainly nothing to be proud off or show off with, its just dangerous and stupid.

You lucky bastard. I've gotten a ticket for vandalism (burnout) a ticket for noise pollution(sport exhaust + a heavy right foot) and maybe three or four tickets for a dirty license plate. And thats just the tickets. I've gotten dozens of warning for shit like this.

Strangely ever since i started driving my sister in law's Ford, i haven't been pulled over for anything. Maybe i should change my sane so it doesn't sound foreign, 99% they pull you over just because of your name.

The only ticket(s) I've ever got was for driving 120 in a 100km/h zone on the Autobahn. I'm not one who usually complains about that sort of stuff (if I had my way, I would put "section control" style speed traps [eta: strangely despite being an English word, it doesn't seem to exist in the English language, this is what I mean] everywhere, and if people still want to speed at least the communities get a bunch of money from them), but I really felt sort like I fell into a "trap" both times. When you're driving 130-140 for hours, suddenly there's a 100km/h sign and right fucking behind the sign is the radar. I just wanted to let the car roll down to 100, but apparently they prefer people to hit the brakes instead - much safer I'm sure...

So, in the last few days I've done these directly in front of a cop/sheriff deputy.

Passed by a cop going 60+ in a 45.
Passed by a cop going 80+ in a 65.
Passed a car on a double yellow in front of a deputy (he yelled at me but didn't give me a ticket or warning)
Blew through a stop sign in front of a deputy.
Went through a red light with a cop following me.
Made a left turn from a right turn lane in front of a cop.
And almost rear ended a cop at the airport.

In all of these the cop plainly saw me or was running laser, and not a single citation... seriously do they just ignore red Explorers?

I know, I know... traffic laws, safety, all that crap... it's like I don't ignore traffic laws or not care about them, just tend to forget about them.
Whoa Summers! You drive like a Spaz!

Those types of speed camera are sometimes referred to as Average speed Cameras.

The question is did you have enough time from seeing the new speed limit sign to brake in a progessive manner to slow the car down to 100? and remember it's pto the driver behind to maintain a safe distance so if you did have to brake hard they would have enough time to do so as well.

In the UK in dry conditions we have the 2 second rule, the worse the conditions the bigger the gap so in snow/icey conditions it could be 10 seconds or more.

But on to the topic at hand, in the UK even though the maximum speed limit on a motorway is 70mph, the unwritten rule is 80mph. i.e most of the time police won't bother doing anything about it unless you are engaging in aggressive driving, tailgating, undertaking, etc..

I would say the OP has been very lucky. The rules of the road are there for a reason, it isn't for you to pick and choose which ones to follow.

Of course I could have, I just didn't think it's necessary. And breaking on the Autobahn can be quite dangerous; if there's a lot of traffic it can be the trigger for a cascade of people breaking behind too with can cause a traffic jam.

80 in a 65 is by itself. The others, if I'm not mistaken, if you do three in one trip.

Seriously? Damn... a little excessive don't you think? I've driven through there several times doing that. Good to know.

Yeah, it's excessive, I was just pointing it out.

Full list of what constitutes reckless driving in Virginia

I got reckless for going 85 in a 55...I was over a 100 at one point but the cop didn't hit the lights until I was around 85...giving me a break?

I've probably hit 85 in a 65 before, but not in a 55. I'm generally one to believe that following distance and signalling are generally far more important than speed, but a 55 zone is quite often either a 2-lane road or a more winding road, so it's slower for a reason. I'm pretty sure my car would literally fall apart at 100 mph.

I may need to look it up in VA...but they can jail you for going over a certain amount...90? 100?

I was taught that the new speed limit begins at the sign, not before, not after it, at it. So the Police were within their rights to place a speed trap there.

You're not supposed to think that by slowing down to obey the speed limit you'll cause a traffic jam.

Traffic jams are caused by a number of factors too many cars on that stretch of road, cars driving too close. So that when you brake the car behind brakes a little harder, as does the care behind him. Traffic moves much smoother when the correct distance is kept.

Over 80. Although that speed generally does not result in incarceration, it can. It also counts as a conviction you have to report to employers on job applications.

Here in AZ, it's a criminal offense if you do 20 above the posted limit, and it's the officer's discretion as to whether he hauls you to jail for it.

Technically, unless there's a statute explicitly saying you can't arrest for an offense, all offenses (even seatbelt offenses) can result in arrest and incarceration before you get a hearing.

WTH? And I get pulled over on a cell-phone violation when I wasn't on the phone. Actually had to get the cop to look through the call logs on the phone to prove I wasn't on it.

Well, I might be a hypocrite when I've gone past 175mph on a 55mph road, in fact i'm pretty sure i went faster than 185mph (300kph) at one point. But you really should reread whatever book you're supposed to read when studying for your license. There are a bunch of stupid things in it, like how you're not supposed to run a red light.

Then you would be less than pleased to know that I've been able to drift it through turns... and that at one point I actually worked as an LEO (that was fun, especially the high speed chases)
I would guess you are either stupid or lying, and since you have posted this type of stuff before I'll go with lying. ;)
Yup. It reminds me when ed used to tell us about his issues with women.

So, this one time, I drove past a cop with a radar gun, and I was going the speed limit. He didn't pull me over. Truth. Boy, I couldn't get a traffic citation that day, I'm tellin' ya.

One time, when I was a retarded college student, I was driving about 110mph on a 65mph highway. I passed a cop on the side of the road. He saw me and immediately turned on his lights. However, in the few seconds that it took him to pull out onto the road, I managed to get ahead of a semi. I switched lanes, hid in front of the semi, and the cop blew right past me and pulled over the car that was a few hundred feet ahead.

Sucked for that guy, but it was awesome for me!

I can't even fathom driving like that anymore. I don't know what I was thinking.
