Just cannot get a traffic/moving citation lately...

The speeding thing... well I hate driving slow, feels un-natural to me.

I don't know... I know driving is a privilege, rules of the road, etc. it's just that much of the time there's no reason for a stop sign to be in front of a driveway, or on the main road crossing a side road. The side ride should have the stop sign, not the other way around.

1. Take your license an cut it up, shred, burn or otherwise destroy the remains.
2. Buy a bus pass.

You should not be behind the wheel of a car.

Technically, it's a truck chassis, not a car.

I don't care what it is. You shouldn't be driving it.

Then you would be less than pleased to know that I've been able to drift it through turns... and that at one point I actually worked as an LEO (that was fun, especially the high speed chases)

I would guess you are either stupid or lying, and since you have posted this type of stuff before I'll go with lying.

Nope... well maybe on the stupid part, but both are true.

Kind of what I thought, you go for the SHOCK effect. Now no one can trust any of your posts anymore.

I don't believe for a second that you were once an LEO while at the same time you claim to just forget about or flat-out ignore traffic rules.

I feel like pointing out that you would have committed a felony in Virginia based on your described behavior.

Anyway, this thread reminded me that I needed to renew my defensive driving course. I just saved 15% on my car insurance by sitting through an online class for a couple of hours. :D

No, really I have worked as an LEO.. during one of the many interviews my exceptionally long list (over 4 pages) of citations was brought up. And I don't see any point to post mundane items like "I had soup today.", or "I wore my new shoes today.". Just things that have made the day or week unusual, or events that have given me thought.

Well, I did have to lose another pair of socks today also. I feel sorry for who ever had to clean that up.

Operative word "were"... too many rules and expectations of my own behavior off duty and also that there were too many people I would not trust my own life to, much less risk mine for. The rules I'm referring to have to do with who I could have as friends and associates. I know a few people who have felonies, some of which in any other state would of been misdemeanors or are in this state. Hell, my own sister has a DUI and being around her was considered something I shouldn't do.

I have a 'safe driver' statues with my insurance, last time I received a citation was 3-4 years ago for speeding, and the LEO driving training qualifies me for insurance discounts.

Words and more words.
Sorry dude, your BS has been called and you admitted to it. I think this gig is up for you!

I'll admit I do stupid shit all the time, or can be flat out stupid. That would explain the restraining I had to take out on my ex, lesson learned there. Will I repeat the stuff that led to me having to do that, probably. So it should read "lesson (should be) learned".

Yet again. ;)

nope... nope.. nope... everything I've posted on here is true. There's quite a few things I haven't posted since those would definitely be called BS. I've had, and continue on having a fun life.

That's nice. You still would have committed a felony in Virginia.

80 in a 65 is by itself. The others, if I'm not mistaken, if you do three in one trip.

So, in the last few days I've done these directly in front of a cop/sheriff deputy.

Passed by a cop going 60+ in a 45.
Passed by a cop going 80+ in a 65.

This stuff depends on the area. Where I live, if you actually do 55 on the interstates marked 55, you will create just as much of a road hazard as the crazy people who drive way faster than the average flow of traffic. Doing about 70 is normal in these areas; in the 65, it's typical to do somewhere between 70-80 mph. If you're in city limits, you can often even get a ticket for obvious speeding (such as 65 in a 55) thrown out simply by bothering to show up at the courthouse, as long as you weren't doing anything truly reckless.

Of course, speeding in front of a cop--daring the police--is stupid. You have to read the situation. Sometimes the cops, who are locals too, drive just as badly as the rest of us. The ones in traffic are usually OK as long as you're not the idiot who decides to go around them. The ones on the shoulder, however...watch out; they might be in a bad mood.

If you are on the interstate, I'd say keep up with traffic, but do not be the fastest car on the interstate unless you are very sure a) no cops are around and b) you don't cut people off, change lanes without a turn signal, ride bumpers, or make other reckless maneuvers; especially if you're going fast, you want to be very predictable for your fellow drivers. You do not want them guessing as to what you will be doing in any given moment.

Passed a car on a double yellow in front of a deputy (he yelled at me but didn't give me a ticket or warning)
Blew through a stop sign in front of a deputy.
Went through a red light with a cop following me.
Made a left turn from a right turn lane in front of a cop.
And almost rear ended a cop at the airport.

These here are all damn stupid. Fast is one thing, especially if that's the typical driving custom in your area. Fast and reckless is a horrible combination. You never, ever want to be unpredictable to your fellow drivers, because unexpected maneuvers cause accidents. You're also clearly pushing--and exceeding--the boundaries of your reaction times if you are unable to react appropriately to situations like you're describing, and that also causes accidents, whether or not it happened to this time around. You should be watching a good, long stretch of road ahead of you and thinking several maneuvers ahead (including anticipating other drivers' moves, which you can often catch from subtle mannerisms and even tiny moves the car makes before it actually does whatever the driver is thinking about doing); the smart driver plays "chess" rather than simply making a mad, uncoordinated dash to one's destination.

In all of these the cop plainly saw me or was running laser, and not a single citation... seriously do they just ignore red Explorers?

I know, I know... traffic laws, safety, all that crap... it's like I don't ignore traffic laws or not care about them, just tend to forget about them.

Have you bought a lottery ticket lately? You are lucky so far, your luck will run out though. I don't think 80 in a 65 is such a big deal, people do that all of the time. I think speed limits are stupid for most of the road and really should only applying densely populated areas. 65 in a 45 is a little much. Passing on a double yellow, I hate when people do that. Almost running into a cop, well, almost committing a crime doesn't matter. This just shows how lazy the cops are where you live though. What ever happened to the patrol part of Highway Patrol? Anyway, you should be happy you didn't get a ticket. Make them do their job.
