Jurassic Park Cinema Re-release!

Saw this on Empire today and I'm so excited. It's out 23rd September in UK, not sure about anywhere else. I don't own Jurassic Park on dvd and I've had the urge to watch it again for a while.

I'm looking forward to watching Jurassic Park and The Lion King on a big screen again!

The local cinema in my city features past movies at midnight on weekends.

Last month they showed JP and JP2. It was great seeing them on the big screen again. Fantastic.

OMG. Please tell me this'll happen in the US. My friend has never seen JP, and I never had the chance to see it on the big screen... Oh, how I would love it if they re-released it here, too.

Will the T-Rex shoot first this time?

I'll probably go see this, if it's released here. I wouldn't mind seeing Jurassic Park again on the big screen.

OMFG, I was away the weekend this newspiece was announced, and so have only just heard about this... OMFG!!!!

I've always felt Jurassic Park was my generation's Star Wars. I still remember going to see it on my 9th birthday that summer and just being blown away, and going again numerous times over the next few weeks.
And like Star Wars I remember the hype was pretty big for it, there were posters everywhere you looked, and nearly every magazine or newspaper in the world seemingly had some dinosaur picture on it. And of course the merchandise, ha I had the T-shirts, toys, games, etc

God I can't believe I'm gonna be able to see it on the big screen again after 18 years, and this weekend too. Yayyyy!!!!

I thought last year was good when Back to the Future was re-released, but what with this and Ghostbusters back out for Halloween, 2011 is treating me well :)

Sometimes I hate living in a small town. :klingon:

Edit: It seems only the UK is getting this, so I'm slightly mollified, but still...

Naturally this has nothing to do with the upcoming blu-ray release of the films

Of course it does - and they haven't tried to hide that. The cinema poster proudly proclaims the blu-ray is coming out a couple weeks later. This is an opportunity to see the new conversion on the big screen.

I must admit, I'm so tempted... I love this movie. Remember seeing it back in 1993 as a thirteen year old...completely blown away.

Who cares about the UK. Is this movie being released in the US?:p

Everyone in the UK cares about the UK. Don't be getting jealous because we re-release good movies ;)

^Perhaps it's a shame for the Americans it's not getting a re-release there, but now you know how it feels for us Brits when we have to wait/don't get something etc..

We experienced that with the first season of Battlestar Galactica. ;)

Really, it seems strange that the English-speaking world isn't treated as a unified release market (the U.S. and Canadian laws are different enough from each other that I wouldn't think that adding British, Australia, etc. laws would be a major impediment).

Well with regards to BSG Season 1 was co-financed by Sky One, so a UK broadcaster did have a stake in it.

I agree, esp when it comes to blu-ray, I could sort of understand different regions for DVD i.e PAL vs NTSC, but with blu-ray all English speaking countries should have been region A
