Just a heads up. source

Cinefex, a quarterly professional magazine dedicated to special effects, will feature the forthcoming move 'Star Trek' in it's next issue.

Covering in detail both physical and CGI special effects, the article will give a behind the scenes look into the making of the new J.J. Abrams directed film.

With it's original issue covering the making of 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture', it's only fitting that Cinefex covers the most recent installment in the trek universe.

Well I donno about Cinefex, but in my experience the month of the magazine rarely corresponds to the month it is released in. I mean hell I already got my May FineScale Modeler, and I received that like a week ago.

Im glad they are doing an article on trek, I will have to check it out.

EDIT: Nevermind, its quarterly as Cubbie said.

That'd be cool if i can get hold of it, maybe a proper news agent chain.

I have loads of this material ranging from 3D Moddeling mags to physically built models and miniatures, I have a big interest in that stuff.

That article sounds cool though.

A big bookstore chain might also be a good bet, as could be one of the independent booksellers who have connections and will try to order or locate anything for you. Might be worth inquiring at Forbidden Planet, for example. Or check Amazon -- I see copies of older issues of Cinefex available there.

Cool! I love this kind of "behind the scenes" stuff.

Agreed. Barnes and Noble carries Cinefex, at least in VA and MA.
borders books as well.;)
Classic Fan is in the UK, but B&N and Borders (or Green Apple Books and Black Oak Books, for independents) were the sort of store which made me think of it.

Most comic stores I know stock "Cinefex", but the regular collectors have it on their standing order, so not too many copies make it to the shelf.

Sounds like he'll want to look into reserving a copy, then.

I love the SMELL of Cinefex. Yes, I sniff it.

RAMA

Generally I moisten it, roll it up and place it in a microwave oven for about fifteen seconds. Then...

Hmm, sounds tasty...

I bet this one smells musty:

Mine Doesn't.

But I've kept it properly stored away all these years...

Wow... now that I think about it, I haven't looked at that one in a long, long time...

Oh, and I've had a subscription to CINEFX for many years.

The Summer Issue usually arrives in the mail early-to-mid June.

I give most of my issues away after reading them, but I've always kept the Trek ones.
