July 2021 Art Challenge - Blue & Gold - Hyperion & the Golden Hedron

USS Hyperion variant I designed encounters the mysterious Golden Hedron. Ship recolorations with light effects added to achieve some of the required sparkle to the gold.

It is otherwise made as it might appear in a comic or as animation. As a result that makes the sparkle a little harder to do.

What do you call that...a snub something nonagons would be better for Diane's Dreadnought because it allows a flat rear impulse but a pointy boy.

georgehart.com and robertLovespi.net might call that a prism.

It is 14-sided, which I believe is called a tetradecahedron. That's a mouthful so I just call it a "Hedron". The panels on each plate are the transwarp engines. It is also a time machine. Time Lords and Borg tech combined if you will, except it is not bigger on the inside. Highly advanced species. It has travelled to the Alpha Quadrant of 2207 where it encounters the Hyperion Class Fed starship.

Different starfield. Ran it through some filters to give it the same comic/animated feel of the models. I think this is a better fit.

I always appreciated your original. This is a fairly substantial rethink of it, but still shows the influence of the original. This is an homage. Well done, Sir.

Thanks. Done with MS paint in 1998. I think everyone that had been inspired by it has improved upon it.
