This entry is in the spirit of the upcoming Olympic Games.
Setting: Five years after Nemesis.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, this isn't about me. I'm just the alternate for the All Earth Women's Gymnastics team. This is the 1st Pan Galactic Olympic Games. About time I say. In the last ten years our team has competed against the Romulans, Cardassians, and Klingons. There are also our long time interFed rivals; the Vulcans, Trill, Argelians, and Andorians.
At the 2nd Galactic Gymnastics Championships Earth/Sol III won the Women's Team Title AND swept the All Around Podium. Mind you, when it was Fed only, the Vulcans had absolute technical dominance. The Argelians and Trill had the artistic edge. The Andorians and humans were lucky to get a stray Silver, Bronze, and Pewter medal here and there.
You're probably wondering how our fortunes improved after tougher competition. There is the team coordinator, Caris. She was a member of Vulcan's team during the 23rd century. She never seemed very Vulcan . How? She was more disdainful, than detached during training sessions. I heard a rumor that she was part Romulan and an orphan. I never had the guts to ask her, though.
There was the post war immigration to Earth as well. Neoli Visi and her family came to Earth from Cardassia six months after the Dominion War. They settled in New Barstow. She's got one World Championship All Around and she's been a Plat runner up three times. On the Balance Beam and Uneven Bars she's won World and Galactic Lats.
Then, there's Marianne Lennox, of the Glasgow Gymnastics Club. She works directly with Caris. She was the Lat All Around winner at last years Galactic Worlds on Bajor. She has, what we call a Munny Move on every apparatus.
There's B'Korat, a prodigy on Vault and Floor Ex. Her family came from Qo'nos to settle in Alice Springs. She rounded out the top three from last years Galactic Championships.
Then there's the rest of us:

Then there's the rest of us:
- Svetlana Kuchinskaya, great beam worker, but inconsistent on other events.
- Bin Xu Huang, had a memorable Floor Ex to the music of "Kalinka" during last year's Galactics. It was her routine that clinched the Team Lat.
- Nadia Petrescu 3rd place Goldie at Galactics, but this years World Lat winner on Balance Beam. She beat Visi and Lennox.
