Sherman and Shwartz- authors of "Vulcan's Heart", "Vulcan's Forge", and the "Vulcan's Soul Trilogy"- are my favorite Star Trek authors, and I want to know who else agrees and why.

Vulcan's Heart is my favorite Trek novel that has ever existed. It had some very fascinating portrayals of Romulan society.
Ruanek is a really cool Romulan - I hope we get to see him again. Also, I love the way they depicted Charvanek, the "Enterprise Incident" Romulan commander.

I'm very fond of their work, too. I've read "Vulcan's Heart", the "Vulcan's Soul" trilogy and their short stories in several of the anthologies, and I find their exploration of Romulan and Pre-Awakening Vulcan cultures very interesting. Also, "Vulcan's Heart" forms the basis for so much of the other novel's continuity and portrayals of Romulan culture that it's essential to the overall Star Trek "story". "Vulcan's Soul" answered a lot of questions, too, and had very good links to other books. These novels really help provide a sense of who the Romulans and Vulcans are, and I always enjoy this sort of in-depth experience of alien societies. 
Agreed and agreed. Vulcans and Romulans were always my favorite races, and Vulcan's Heart/Forge gave an in-depth look. Spock-as he is without a doubt my favorite character-being the foremost character was definetly a treat (which is one reason I enjoyed the book "Spock's World").
Also I found I had watched all the right TOS and TNG, as I recognized every episode reference in Vulcan's Heart.

I loved the way they portrayed Ruanek from his meeting Spock in 2295 all the way to when he was a close friend and colleague as of 2377. I'm currently listening to the unabridged audio versions of the the Vulcan's Soul trilogy and was wondering if anyone will use Ruanek again in the post-Nemesis stories. Great books
. I also loved how Sherman & Shwartz set him up as a partial owner of a horse farm on Earth. How cool is it that a former Centurion in the Romulan military is now a Vulcan scholar who owns a part of an Earth-based business 
??I really like Vulcan's Forge and Vulcan's Heart is one of my favorite StarTrek books. I really liked how the authors show the differences between the Vulcan & Romulan cultures.The history and background in The Vulcan soul books I re-read them a few months ago.I really like how Spock is written in this series of books and Saavik too.

And I love horses - have ridden, raised, shown and raced them for 40 years. So when they wrote an appealing Vulcanoid character that was horse crazy - well, it doesn't get much better than that for this Trek fan!
The only bad part is that the Vulcan Soul Trilogy is darned hard to find in my area.

"Heart" is also one of my favorite Trek novels. Very well-written; one of the few Trek novels that I've recommended to non-Trek fans.
That said, surprisingly, I haven't read the "Soul" trilogy (so many books to read, and lately, I've been reading alot of Civil War non-fiction).

The only one I've read is Vulcan's Forge, and I loved it. It's one of my top 10 TOS novels (not that I have an actual list). I usually don't care for flashback scenes and just wish they'd get over with, but I found the ones in this book to be very compelling. A lot of the time flashbacks are used to expand on the current circumstances, but IIRC the ones in this book instead just focused on Spock's background, which is something I really liked.
I do want the read the other Vulcan's Noun books but there's a lot of other stuff I need to catch up on first, so it may be a hwile.
