Personally, I think it's very odd to have him direct something of this scale, since he only has one movie under his belt in Don Jon. Definitely interested to see how this pans out though!

As long as Gaiman is involved, this should be good. I would have little faith in a Gaiman-less Sandman movie. Goyer has his strengths, but Sandman's elegiac, surreal style is not one of them.

wonder if they're going to adapt one of the story arcs or do something original.

Lets sum up the seventy 5 comics.

powerless, quest to get his power back, pisses off Satan, Satan in revenge mode tricks dream into killing his son which brings about his own murder by vengeance goddesses while sewing the seeds of his own resurrection.

80 percent of Sandman is an excuse to write about bollocks that was of interest to Neil on any given day, that had almost nearly nothing to do with the character.

Dream is the god of Stories, so it's a comic book about stories.

Scale? Hm. I wonder if actually the movie will be something more intimate than the Avengers.

The smaller more personal stories in Sandman were always more interesting to me. So, maybe it's not that big in scale...

I'd much prefer a television series to a movie. Still, this project has my curiosity based on the people involved.

I'm imaging the reverse of the Wonder Woman thread, where all the misogynists are ranting that the almost chosen, tapped actresses are too tall, or too beefy to be Death.

It's going to be murder.
