I am new here, this is my first post. I watched the first season of Discovery to get hyped for Picard. I've watched every Picard episode the day it released or the day after. Yes, its a darker Trek, and a serial, but I don't mind. I don't think the Federation is anywhere near as screwed up as some reviewers suggest. Yes, there's the ban on AI and the absolute refusal to help the Romulans evacuate their homeworld. It seems the Federarion mostly has it together aside from those two big issues. I like how this is less of a sequel to TNG and more of answering the question of... hey, whatever happened to Captain Picard? I do want to see all of the TNG cast, the big seven. It'll be more interesting if we see them here and there, but not all at the same time. Before the show ends for good, a full cast reunion for just one episode wouldn't hurt.

Anyway, I kind of rambled. Posting from my phone. Did anyone else sign up here because of Dis and Pic?

Welcome aboard! Glad you're enjoying PIC so much. Grab some Earl Grey (decaf) and join the madness, err, fun, I mean fun. :D

Also, you might be pleased to hear that Sir Patrick has said that he wants for the audience to encounter every main TNG crew member on the show at some point and in some way. And, when it comes to PIC, what's on Sir Patrick's wish list he usually gets. ;)

Give it 19 years or so and you'll feel right at home :D
It doesn't have to be that long... I joined late into the first season of Discovery, and I've found the community much more fun and inclusive than I feared at first, and now it's the first site I check every morning when I wake up :D

As for Star Trek: Picard, I was cautiously optimistic about it, afraid that it would be just milking nostalgia for the sake of it, or that it would descend into vitriol and some fans would create a false dilemma between it and Discovery where you can't love one without hating the other, so I'm glad that as far as what I experience on this site is considered, it hasn't happened. And, of course, the series itself has been a very pleasant surprise for me, both in the story, the characterization and the world-building aspects.

Which I found a bit odd. Only Raffi is acting rather dramatic with this silly drug addiction. Rios seems perfectly fine. Just a nice pleasant fellow.
well Rios is into heavy, dark, brooding existentialism. I'm sure he acts like a drama queen from time. I know that. because I was once 18 too
