John Eaves Trek Art Book Out Now

Star Trek concept artist John Eaves has announced that he is working on a new book that will collect artwork from throughout his Trek career, which began with The Final Frontier, and has continued on all the way through to Discovery. It is being written by Joe Nazzaro, who also wrote Star Trek: Beyond - The Makeup Artistry of Joel Harlow, and Eaves has said it will include art from every version of Star Trek he has worked on. It's being published by Titan Books, but we don't have a release date yet.

Oeh, I can dig it!! I like John Eaves's work, so this might be the only Trek Art book I'd like to have.

Excellent. I really liked his other book, the Star Trek Movie Sketchbook, although I heard making that book wasn't a good experience for him. Hopefully this one is done right.

Most of these kind of art books from Titan seem to be $30-$50, so this will probably be somewhere in that range. They do have a few TV series companions that are only about $15-$20, but I'm thinking this will probably be closer to the other art books.

So I see that this is out in the UK already. Anyone pick it up? I saw a video on Youtube of a few pages and a lot of it seems to have similar content to the Movie sketchbook released years ago, also quite a few other designs have popped up online which is a little disappointing since I read that he had been digging through a lot of unseen stuff to put into this. Can anyone comment?

That looks like an interesting book the new Star Trek magazine has an article about this book.

Got my copy of this one from Amazon today. Really enjoying it. Especially like the diagram of 1701-E on page 78 - and really wish it was a lot bigger so I could read the specs along the right side of the image. Also really like the Klingon ship on pages 116-7 - a very interesting design and something I never seen anyone else do with a Klingon ship.

From the previews I have seen there is Discovery stuff in it.
From what I have seen I don't know if it's enough for a buy. I really like it but as I said before I have seen a lot of that stuff already.

It's been way too long since we've had a beautiful Star Trek book like this! It covers designs from the Original Series and Next Generation movies, through the subsequent series, and right into Discovery. Any Star Trek fan should find something appealing in it.

I got mine Friday. It is MUCH heftier than I thought it would be! I have scanned and I am amazed at the volume of work John has done for Trek it is WELL worth the price if you are fan of ship and props!

Got mine yesterday and I LOVE it. I'm pretty familiar with his work from DSC since it's the internet era, and I was aware he designed the E-E and movie era stuff but I had no idea how thoroughly he has stamped his design language on Trek.

Whomever is on the fence should totally buy it.

I've been looking for a local copy, as it's definitely on my holiday list. From the very limited preview images I've seen, I've gotten the impression that it covers a pretty wide range of his work.
