JLA: Crisis on Two Earths.

My favorite DCAU DVD is "Green Lantern" I still think it's the best of them. Followed by "Wonder Woman" and then "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" which was pretty cool and I'd still like them to do the follow up Supergirl storyline and explain that she was trapped in the Kryptonite asteroid that was coming to Earth and when the composite Superman/Batman robot exploded the asteroid it released her ship. "Supermran:Doomsday" would have been better had it followed the comic storyline more faithfully but it does indeed have that epic battle between Superman and Doomsday and I did enjoy all the Fortress scenes. "New Frontier" was fun and probably a little underrated. I liked the Green Lantern sequences at the end and David Boreanaz did a good job with the voice. So far Crisis on Two Earths has been the only one that I've been really disappointed with.

Honestly, I think the "virgin living in his parent's basement" is like Bigfoot. Maybe he exists, but I've never met one. All my comics-reading, scifi-obsessed friends have jobs and kids and mortgages . . . .

Despite the fact I am in latter half of my twenties I don't foresee a lot of 30 plus year olds picking this up for themselves. Especially 30 plus year olds ones that don't live in their parents basements.

A lot of 30+ year olds have the benefit of not giving a shit what anybody thinks of the things they enjoy for entertainment. (I'm 32)

While in High School I might have 'hidden' liking Star Trek, Star Wars, Batman, etc, for fear of getting teased now I really don't give a frog's fat ass what people think of them. I like them.

There's no such thing as adults, only children who owe money.

I love the walls.

I wish I was a virgin.

So many mistakes.

Mom's basement?

She lives 14 stories up.

I liked Green Lantern: First Flight a lot... It's probably my favorite DCU movie to date.

Either first or second place to be sure...

I liked New Frontier and Wonder Woman, but didn't love them.

WW was let down by it's ending, I thought. Once the Amazon fleet shows up the Army virtually disappears. It would have been a nice parallel to Diana's own story of learning about Man's World to see the two forces fighting side by side against Ares' minions.

(I guess we're not discussing Gotham Knight because it was kind of a separate beast from the rest.)

Yeah, you talk about what you like or dislike about GK and people ask: "which part"? The animation styles are all over the place, and so is casting quality on many of the voices. The conceit of multiple authors (one for each part) means the "voice" of each part is vastly different.

How on earth did you guys see this movie already? The earliest date I can rent/buy it is on 02/23. I liked "New Frontier" and "Public Enemies," which I both got on DVD.

I havent' seen it yet. All my comments were addressing comments made about other DCDTDVD movies...

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view point) most DVD releases end up with a nice quality copy online, ready to download 2-3 weeks before their official street date these days.

A decade ago Valeria Von Doom arrived from the future to the year 2000 with her tesseract bedroom, in which was a copy of the DVD Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith.

It's not always criminal to have movies before the release date.

Holy crap Guy... you're one of the few people around that remember "Marvel Girl" aka Valeria VonDoom/Richards too... :high five:

As for the "living in mom's basement" thing, I'm sure there are still a number of man-childs out there that do still live with ma and spend all their money on comics and toys and other shit... but its not necessarily because they have to, could be because say their parents/parent is ill/sickly/disabled in some way and with an aging boomer generation out there the children are turning into caregivers/aides more often. I'm 27, I have a decent-ish job, I just bought my first house, but thanks to my mom having crappy credit, not a whole lot of income from her small business and because I'm such a good son lol, she lives in my house. I honestly think that our parents will be the ones to need our generation's assistance more than we needed their assistance.

So if I wanna buy me a new comic book movie or something... I'm gonna buy it because y'know what? Its my money. Its entertaining!

saw it today...best one so far. I liked the story, the voices..I wish they could create a series around THIS one...and I loved the Spectre short story as well...i think this is the best of the new DVD movies...

Finally saw "Crisis on Two Earths". I went in with zero expectations and I was greatly surprised! I think this is my favorite DCA movie so far! The animation was the best yet. The action scenes were the best they've ever done with great use of powers and mid-flight battles. Tons of cameos. James Wood as Owlman. Best of all this could absolutely be the bridge movie between JL and JLU! It shows the construction of the new Watchtower... it shows their recruitment drive... it shows the origin of Wonder Woman's invisible jet... very cool. This is the first movie I really felt was firing on all cylinders. My only complaint is that Batman basically loop-hole-killed two villains. What is this the live action movies? :p Also, Owlman's plan to erase all reality is a little WTF. But it's still excellent! The Spectre short on the other hand was a complete waste of time. I'm not a huge fan of the Spectre to begin with but who cares about him killing a couple Hollywood crew people in the 70s?!

I agree with the last two posters, my favorite of the DCU films. I'll probably watch it after the first two seasons of the Justice League cartoon before I move on to Unlimited next time I go through the series.

I really enjoyed this film. Definitely reminded me of the old JL/JLU cartoons with the banter. The only voice I didn't think matched up well was William Baldwin was Batman. Didn't work for me. And I was expecting Ultraman to sound different, not a like a two-bit thug, but then again, I guess that was what he was.

I thought it had it's moments (the first big battle, Batman vs Owlman at the end), but the story itself just didn't do much for me. It felt really thin and poorly developed, and the big world-ending bomb idea feels like it's been done to death already.

I did like the animation though. That's the best animated Superman so far, in my opinion, and I loved some of the moves Batman had during his fight sequences.

Actually the coolest part for me was seeing the original Aquaman again. I don't know why exactly, but I just got a HUGE thrill from that. :D

As for the ranking, I'd still put Green Lantern first (by a wide margin), followed by Wonder Woman, the underrated Gotham Knights, New Frontier, Two Earths, Public Enemies, and Doomsday.

Crisis 2 > Public Enemies > Doomsday > New Frontier > Green Lantern > Wonder Woman > Gotham Knight, though I liked them all to some degree.

For me it's: (TIE) Crisis2/Public Enemies, (TIE) Doomsday/Green Lantern, WW, Gotham Knight, New Frontier

If Bruce would be willing to do it (wishful thinking) Marvel should offer him whatever it took to straighten out their animation division. Or better yet, make him EIC.

I've thought about picking up the DVD or Blu-ray, but I'm not sure if it's worth spending $20+. I might rent it later.

I think Bruce is ready to take the big leap to live action...let him be the show runner of a JSA spinoff of Smallville, with Geoff as head writer...
