JJ Abrams in England in November...for Trek?

According to the JJ Abrams/Chris Moyles interview (see link on main Trek Today page), JJ's gonna be in England in November for Star Trek reasons.

Is there a con I haven't heard of? If it was just for an interview, surely they'd do it over the phone. Of course, it may be nothing at all but my mind is racing at the possibilities.

There is little sense in going to England in November to interview about a movie coming out in May. This has to be something else.

^^^ Exactly. In the interview, he says he'll come on Moyle's show when he's in England, not come over just for it.
What could it be?

My dream would be to film a pick-up scene with Christopher Lee. :)

C'mon, he's been in every other big sf and fantasy franchise, save Harry Potter.

And given his age, he's not up for leaving the UK. (He's said that he'd love to be in The Hobbit as Saruman, but any scenes would have to be shot in England as he physically couldn't handle the 24-hour flight to New Zealand.)

Christopher Lee!

They're screening 20 minutes of footage in November at a secret location in London. Seems like that might be at least part of the reason for him being here.

How do you know that? and how do I find this secret location?

That I can't really say, as it might jeopardise my chances of seeing said 20 minutes in November, but I did hear it from someone involved in the screening. As for finding the location, I suppose if someone were desperate enough they could follow Abrams around from the moment he steps off his plane at Heathrow :)

I'm sure he'll also talk to the Beeb about bringing Doctor Who to America again. :P That, or Steven Moffat will lock him in his room and force him to write an episode. :P

Just resurrecting this old thread to let you all know that the footage is being shown TOMORROW. Hopefully, I'll have more to say after that...

Sorry, just read the thread and realised you are somehow on the 'inside' - You are a journalist or something?
